In order...

1) Adrian Peterson-He's the most consistent back in the NFL, just get's overshadowed by some different guy every season.

2) Ray Rice-Multipurpose back, who is shifty and can put a shoulder down and run through people. Love his YAC and conditioning.

3) Arian Foster-Love his ability to receive out of the backfield, he would be higher on my list he had more than two seasons under his belt.

No Mccoy? Why Rice or Foster ahead of him?

I think Peterson is the only one clearly better, but Mccoy has a good case against anyone else imo.

They both run stronger than McCoy imo. But you could certainly make a case for him, the argument is really open from 1 down.

I think AP has been #1 since his rookie year and until someone can show that they can surpass him in terms of what he brings to the game, his talent as a runner will put him above the rest. For me, the its really hard to seperate the next tier of backs.. but i think overall it goes something like this:

Top tier: AP, Arian Foster, MJD

Next Tier: Mccoy, Rice, Forte, Chris Johnson (despite what hes done this year)

I think the RB talent pool isn't super exciting right now and in a short time some fresh blood will take over. Now's a good time to start thinking about finding that next superstar RB. For now I would say AP deserves the vote for #1, but he won't be able to hold onto that for too much longer.

Just wanted to bump this and see what people have to say about Adrian Peterson now. #1 should be pretty consensus by now.

1. Foster
2. Peterson

3a. Rice
3b. McCoy

I think Rice and McCoy are close enough to be 3a and 3b rather than 3 and 4, depending on your preference. I think I'd take Rice though if push came to shove.
