What I meant by that was, there were not enough marquee names in the TE position over the course of history, so that for most people once you think of TE, you automatically associate the position with someone current because of recency effect....

After watching Charlie Sanders highlights from last weekend, I wish I could recast my vote and give him the respect he deserves. Dude had some sick hands and great body control. They showed a 5-minute montage of his career and a clip from a Lions training camp where he was showing young teammates how to block at the HOF.

FWIW I was never a big Brent Jones guy, a product of the system IMO. He was little better overall than the guy he replaced, John Frank, one of my childhood faves. Which might explain my bias against the man who usurped his job...
