Arrelious Benn - WR - Illinois

Post#1 » by WAYSA » Sun Oct 19, 2008 6:21 am

I know this thread is a year earlier, but my god this guy is ridiculous!

6'2" - 220 lbs - 4.4

He's one of the best yards after contact receivers I have ever seen. Often drags defenders for 5+ yards at a time. He bounces off kill shots like no one you will ever see. To put it in perspective: I have watched him for two years and he has taken some serious hard knocks and I cannot recall one single play where he was hit and flattened.

Everyone wants to compare him to Boldin, but he is definitely faster. Which is a scary thought. I think he is another Andre Johnson type talent, but more physical and less the leaper.

He has 4 straight 100 yard receptions game (While seeing double coverage at all times) a school record and is really coming into his own now that Juice has suddenly become a passer.

Benn has to be the #1 NFL WR prospect in college football right now.

What does everyone else think about him? Icness?

Here are some highlights:

The play at 0:22 is just ridiculous. That play was overturned for a TD.

As an illini fan I love AB. He has lived up to the hype that accompanied him to Champaign, which is an unbelievable success in and of itself.

I still say Crabtree is the best collegiate receiver in the nation and is the next Calvin Johnson.

Calvin Johnson is the next big thing in the NFL.
Next time the cult's spaceship lands we'll all be wearing black Starburys.

I always think about lining up Floyd, Tate and Benn together.

Oh what could have been....
