You can't fault him. The bullpen is still over worked and there was no reason to not pull him. Can't put that on Yost, CV was just ineffective

I mean, yeah, I wouldn't be complaining if this was still a 2-2 game, but Villa has been scuffling most likely due to fatigue. I just don't think its right to have him go out there and throw 20-30 pitches right away.

But yeah, the bullpen is obviously pretty taxed.

Of all guys, Brad Ausmus is the one who drives home the 4th one. That's close to embarrassing.

Well Spurling is a pretty embarassing pitcher.

How has Spurling managed to stay on this team all year?

You're really hard on Spurling. He's no worse than a piece of crap

Well this one's over. 2 outs then 3 runs. Boy is that a disturbing trend

I stand by my embarrassing after that 2 RBI single by Eric freakin' Bruntlett.

Seriously Ned it's an off day tomorrow so everyone is available and you decide to put Chris Spurling in there to stop the bleeding. What a moron.

In all fairness, Spurling has been ok, better than Matt Wise, but not many others. I don't like using him there either, so I'm not siding with that decision, but I'm saying Spurling hasn't been that bad this season.

Did Manny Parra pitch last night? I didn't watch the game.

Are you forgetting that today is Sunday? There is obviously there is a NASCAR race on right now, which means Yost is in full NASCAR Ned mode.

Spurling has not been better than Wise. Spurling is just not a good pitcher at all.

I think he's the obvious choice to put in, much as I'd love to use Linebrink every day in a fantasy world.

If he's on the staff, you use him, and you generally use him when you're losing.

If you guys were managing instead of Yost, our bullpen would be twice as fatigued as it is now, if that's possible...

Seriously? You use guys like Spurling in blowout games either way or in long extra inning games.

Maybe Ned forgot about the OFF DAY tomorrow so everybody in the bullpen should be available.

The good news is that the Cubs continue to follow the standard trend.

Now all we need is a walk, a bloop and a blast by Braun and we have the lead. Not too much to ask is it? :(

Oh nevermind Mench is facing a righty. Game over.

Ned has an obsession with carrying an extra pitcher when we could've brought a lefty off the bench.
