Ever since the pick, I have been trying to read up on Silatolu, the OT soon to be OG the Panthers took in the 2nd. I know Icness had him going early 2nd. From everything I read, I love him. Has a nasty streak, is a mauler, and a very good run blocker. Seems to be everything the Panthers thought they drafted in Jeff Otah before his knee started going to hell in a hand basket. He will improve the running game, which is a big plus. Very happy with Kuechly and Silatolu. Now, we need a DT and a WR or TE.

Sh*ts and giggles.

They might have tried to trade down or maybe he was afraid Tavon wouldn't be available later on. We saw several legitimate reaches tonight so that's a possibility.

1. I have no clue what the 49ers are doing. NONE at all. None of those picks make any sense. Basically every pick they made replicates a skillset that they already have on their team.

2. No clue either as to what the Eagles are doing. I guess Reid is going to develop Foles into another QB he can make look good for draftpicks to pick another QB he can look good again? I guess he's feeling real secure with his job. How can you pick Cox over Brockers? You have overlapping talent on that Dline by putting Cox in there. Brockers is much much more of a sure thing that can transition into a more complete player than Cox is, who needs time to develop the exact opposite skills that your line already lacks.

3. Love love the Giants picks. Under Tom Coughlin they have had horrific K returners and P returners. They fixed that in a real hurry with players who have potential to both contribute immediately and develop into starters. Hosley seems like a ridiculous athlete crazy burst and closing speed. I'd love to see his 10yard split because it looks insane on youtube. Randle looks like Nicks-lite. Wilson needs to cut out this east-west bull and learn to eat the few yards gain/loss. And he carries the ball like he has a bag of groceries in his hand. Otherwise, he looks like a single-cut back for between the tackles with home run burst. His skillset makes perfect sense next to Bradshaw who is much more of a dancer and slips about 99999 arm tackles a year.

4. Jets draft: BOOM(with TNT) or BUST (with an anvil like huge thud)

5. Cowboys game plan next year: Blitz 90% of the time, play man outside and pray.

Thinking on the Panther's 4th rounder. If still looking at Defense, may go with Antonio Allen of SC, Boykin of Georgia, Ta'amu of Washington, or even Crick of Neb. If they are sure they are letting Shockey go, they may think about Orsen Charles of Georgia to play behind Greg Olsen. Beat writers in Charlotte said TE is a possibility in mid rounds if Shockey is surely gone. Charles would be an upgrade over Hartsock and Barnidge. Finally, they may look at Joe Adams, the WR/PR from Arkansas. Armanti Edwards experiment at Carolina needs to be over. Ta'Amu has a 2nd round grade, and considering we need another DT, likely the smart pick if still there at #104.

Interesting info on the Mike Adams pick:

When Adams reached out to the Steelers for a second interview to express remorse and ask for another chance, the team agreed, though general manager Kevin Colbert told Adams he was nowhere near Pittsburgh's draft board.

During the meeting, Colbert, coach Mike Tomlin and owner Art Rooney II outlined the criteria that Adams needed to meet if he wanted any shot at being picked by the team he rooted for while growing up in western Pennsylvania.

Convinced Adams wants to turn his life around, the Steelers selected him in the second round Friday with the 56th overall pick in the draft. While acknowledging Adams' checkered past -- he missed five games last season while serving an NCAA suspension for receiving improper benefits -- the Steelers also believe he's sincerely trying to clean up his act.

"We didn't call him, he called us," Colbert said. "Had he not called us, this may not have occurred."

The one thing I find very interesting in following the draft is that the Bengals draft like a fan, always taking the highest players available on Mels board because they dont have a real scouting department. Fans always crown them the winners of the draft.

Teams with real GMs and real scouting make a lot of creative picks that piss off fans and make them wonder what they are doing.

Eagles plan is to get the QB and damn run defense. Cox works there, Brockers doesn't.

While I do think Jenkins was a reach, I never ruled out the possibility of another WR in the first 2 days. If Moss goes bust, then their basically back to the same situation they were in last year and no one wants to see Ginn Jr. play more than limited snaps as a WR. Jenkins is a guy that could contribute. Kyle Williams is pretty much finished as a 49er. I agree with you on LaMichael James. It could be that the team thinks Gore is on his last legs(1 or 2 years?), so they felt they could get a guy who could split some carries with Kendall Hunter in the future. That said, I would've preferred them to go with OL, DL, or DB depth at 61.

Is it just me, or are there twice as many players with "first round talent" as there are picks in the first round?

Love it! NFL.com just inadvertantly switched to some family sitting on their couches eating food, not knowing they're on. This is lasting forever. Awesome TV!

Edit: Dad's dancing for the camera. I think he knows now.
