2010 Draft Redux

Post#1 » by jakecronus8 » Tue Feb 15, 2011 11:15 pm

Just wanted to get your guys opinion (specifically IC's) on how the first round would go if last year's draft was done over (using hindsight of course) and specifically how high in the first round would Sam Shields have gone. Is top 10 too high?

Dez, McCourty and Pouncey would go top 10. Guys like Dunlap, Gronkowski and Mike Williams would be top 15. I think Rodger Saffold is better than Anthony Davis too.

I think Saffold would go top 5. I had him as Offensive ROY. I was really surprised the Rams had such stellar tackle play all year, that line was terrible in 09 especially Jason Smith.

I think Sam Shields might have been drafted this time around...

Got him at 32 in the forum mock. 8-)

And yeah, Sam Shields would be a 1st round pick IMO.

Without a great deal of thought:
Rams--Sam Bradford
Lions--Ndamukong Suh
Bucs--Joe Haden
Slurs--Maurkice Pouncey
Chiefs--Eric Berry
Seahawks--Rodger Saffold
Browns--Devin McCourty
Raiders--Mike Williams
Bills--Rob Gronkowski
Jaguars--Tyson Alualu
49ers--Earl Thomas
Chargers--LeGarrette Blount
Eagles--Trent Williams
Seahawks--Dez Bryant
Giants--Carlos Dunlap
Titans--Lamarr Houston
49ers--Koa Misi
Steelers--Mike Iupati
Falcons--Rolando McClain
Texans--TJ Ward
Bengals--Jordan Shipley
Broncos--Pat Angerer
Packers--Nate Allen
Cowboys--Sam Shields
Broncos--Alterraun Verner
Cardinals--Colt McCoy
Patriots--Chris Ivory
Dolphins-- Jermaine Gresham
Jets--Gerald McCoy
Lions-- Jacoby Ford
Colts--Jared Veldheer
Saints--Kavell Conner

Biggest 1st round misses:
Jerry Hughes
Patrick Robinson
Kareem Jackson
C.J. Spiller
Ryan Mathews
Kyle Wilson
Derrick Morgan
Russell Okung

But those last two guys were more injured than disappointing. Pretty low bust rate for the rookies and even most of the guys who weren't great showed something. Jackson actually played reasonably well late in the year, so did Dan Williams. Jerry Hughes is the only guy that appeared completely out of his element...and I told everyone that ahead of time 8-)

I think Bryan Bulaga would definately still be a 1st round pick.

I'm prolly a bit based, but I would take Okung on the Cowboys over Sam Shields. Okung and Free set the Cowboys for a while.

:-? Colts should of selected Saffold with their pick at last year's draft.

I think Moeki would probably break into the late first/early second as would Aaron Hernandez as the next tier of tight ends after Gronkowski. Especially if we're assuming GMs have the foresight to see the incredibly weak TE class of 2011.
