Why doesn't Oakland?

trade the #1 to Tampa Bay for #4 and their 2nd and 3rd rounders????

makes too much sense......they can still get Russell at #4 and pick up some extra picks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, if they want CJ, that's a different story...but regardless, this is what they should do.

Well ... Cleveland could still take Russell, so it's not the best idea unless Cleveland trades down too, and the team they're trading with doesn't need a QB.

Also, since Tampa wants Calvin Johnson and they know Oakland needs to take Russell, they'd probably trade with Detroit.

Russell will be Oakland's pick, not Calvin, book it. By trading down Ruseell could be gone before any other pick by another team trading up and it's a risk that the Raiders don't need to take.

Maybe they're targeting Quinn. Then trading down w/Tampa makes sense. Russell may go 3 to Cleavland, but that wouldn't affect them.

Phil Savage (Browns' GM) has also had his eye on Russell since he was 16 years old...I think if by some chance Russell is still on the board #3 the Browns would take all of 15 seconds to pick him.

Browns would love to get Russell at #3, they wouldn't even hesitate to take him over Quinn or Peterson.

If by some freak occurence Russell is not taken #1, then I strongly believe the Lions take him.

And once again, why would Tampa, a team with several major holes, have any motivation to trade away picks that are almost certain to produce immediate starters to get just one guy? Johnson is going to be very good, but you don't deal your draft away for a WR, period.
