The Official NFL Draft

Post#1 » by Next Coming » Fri Apr 27, 2007 6:21 pm

Christmas is finally here as we draft nuts get to quench our thirst for knowledge, shuttle times and cool graphics.

Yearly fans gather around the tube in hopes that thier team has just selected a cornerstone for thier franchise for next 10 years.

The pessimists pray that thier GM won't select the next Ryan Leaf, Lawrence Phillips or Desmond Howard.

Trades are always a big part of the draft and this year we could see a lot of maneuvering. Does Detriot trade out of the #2 spot. Do the Falcons move up?

You pray your General Manger just completed a trade that makes the Herschel Walker trade look competent.

And on the flip coin you hope you didn't trade Eli Manning for Shawne Merriman, Phillip Rivers and Nate Kaeding.

Paging Eli: You still have some time.

It' can't be said enough. This day could make or break a franchise for the next 5 years if they draft wrong.

Or give a struggling franchise a much needed boost and propel them to elite status down the road.

Day 1 is all about the big name guys who you have followed for the past 3 to 4 years. The Posluszny's and the Landry's.

Day 2 is where you find your hidden gems. The Tom Brady's, Terrell Davis, the Marques Colstons the list goes on and on.

It's like Jimmy Johnson said, "Super Bowls are won on Day 2."

Draft weekend is all about emotion. The day players have dreamt about since they were old enough to pick up a football.

The tears and the champagne will flow as life-long dreams have been fufilled.

Draft weekend is Mel Kiper day.

It's Mike Mayock's day.

Today is where second guessing is encouraged. It gives us all a reason to believe that we are more capable than the guys making the decisions.

For Lion fans they could be on the money.

So hurry on down kids and unwrap your presents because today your parents could have gotten you that 6'5 230 pound QB with the lazer, rocket arm.

Or that DE who has a weekly 5 thousand coke habit.

So stock up on beef jerky, dip, and Coors light. Cancel your date with the misses and check your priorities.

Because Christmas comes only once a year.

Welcome to the NFL DRAFT.

I have a feeling Miami will end up with Quinn. They want him the most out of any other team.

Cardinals will take Levi Brown. They don't need another RB and need someone to protect Leinart.
