- We filled a HUGE need at tackle with the tackle that We had rated highest on your board anyway. He's an instant upgrade over Leonard Davis and gives us some toughness in our front line.

- Cardinals absolutely STOLE the best defensive tackle in this years draft, and a player that's going to be another Kris Jenkins/Shaun Rogers. (With more upside.)

- Arizona already had a great MLB and SLB in Dansby and Hayes, now you get that true, wrecking ball, playmaking WILL in Buster Davis.

- We got a playbreaking P/KR in Steve Breaston. Along with Morey, Holt, Hood, and ST coach Kevin Spencer,our special teams will be amongst the leagues best.

- Cadinals landed a BPA in the 7th round and filled a need. We already had a great play-making TE in Pope, and Whisenhunt gets perhaps the blocking TE in the draft; a key instrument in his offense.



All in all, the Cardinals ran away with a player ranked in the top 3 in their positions at every pick.



1st round - OT 1. Thomas. 2. Brown 3. Staley

2nd round - DT 1. Branch 2. Okoye 3. Harrell

3rd round - LB 1. Willis 2. Harris 3. Davis

5th round - P/KR 1. Breaston 2. Higgins 3. Figurs

7th round - TE 1. Miller 2. Olson 3. Patrick


Whisenhunt did his research and successfully addressed the team's needs. He's definitely a smart guy, and the Cards finally have a coach who understands that the offensive line is what makes or breaks a team's offense.

He's building a team with numerous leaders and some great play-makers on both ends of the ball. - Essential for turning around a team.

I'd have to say, based soley on the 1st day (which is all you have up here) that Cleveland is the winner. They got a franchise QB and a franchise LT, the two most important positions on the offensive side of the ball IMO.

Arizona reached for Brown at #5 but redeemed themselves by landing Branch in the 2nd round. I'm still a little leery of the Cardinals because they always look good on draft day but somehow it never manages to turn into results on the field.

Also, if you include trades the Niners should be up there. Willis and Staley should be immediate impact players and we got Darrell Jackson for a 4th round pick, who should step in and become our #1 WR.

Those are not correct picks for the Falcons, and I would say we were top 3.

Too hard to tell, because the Saints did the same as last year, drafted unknown players, and they probably ended up with the most contributors of all.

I'll go with Minnesota for now.

Oh, so that means the Vikings automatically have the best draft.

My vote was for the Browns, for two reasons. One was because they ignored the media that said that we HAD to take Quinn with our 3rd pick, and took a player that will contribute immediately and make everyone in our backfield better.

My other reason is that we got Quinn. I am a bit PO'd that we have to give up our 1st round pick next year in order to move up 14 spots, but if you think about, Quinn was supposed to go as high as number 3, so I guess if our pick is outside of the top 10 last year, it is a good deal for us. We also get our QB a year earlier, have an LT to protect him, and we get to pay him less.

I didnt say that. I just thought they should at least be considered as a possibility to vote for.

I think my Vikes had a top 5 draft, but for best I'm going to have to say Cleveland. Arizona shouldn't be in the discussion - they drafted a reach and a character problem with their first two picks.

I think Cleveland gave too much to move up... I think in terms of value, need, and overall skill... no one's draft was as good as SF. They moved up to get Joe Staley, a guy who I really think is closer to Joe Thomas than people gave him credit for, and Patrick Willis, who should be a star LB in the league like Julian Peterson was.

The only reason I dont like CLE's draft is because their pick will likely be a top 10 again, unless Charlie Frye or Brady Quinn puts it together very fast.

Yeah, I don't get how SF wasn't even an option. Most publications are including them in the 'best draft' discussion, and not a few have named them as tops.

New England had a great draft. Got the safety they wanted in the first round and traded a late first for a better first next year and randy moss.

So you think Cleveland gave up a lot, but SF got a lower pick, and Cleveland got a player that was supposed to be a top 10 pick. I think both teams got ripped off, and both teams will end up giving up picks that are higher than what they received. I think Cleveland might be better than SF this year.

I like the niners, they got Willis, then add protection for Smith with Staley. They then add a couple of recievers in Jayson Hill out of WSU and Darell Jackson from the Seahawks. Also like the DE Moore from nebraska.

Arizona- Had an amazing draft, getting key players up until the seventh round. Patrick, Davis, Breaston will all contribute to the team, and Branch just might be the player he should be. Brown went early, but im glad they are going to help James/Leinart.
