Great young QBs

Post#1 » by jumanji » Sun Sep 23, 2007 4:00 am

I really like the crop of QBs out there for the 08 draft with guys like Matt Ryan, Andre Woodson and Brian Brohm. Fastforward a couple of years to a true super in Matthew Stafford of Georgia and Tim Tebow of UF, and dont sleep on redshirt freshman Jake Locker of U of Washington.

Sam Bradford is showing that he deserves some mention just because of his play so far this year.

Also I have a feeling one of USC's backups will end up being pretty good, now I'm not sure which it will be between Sanchez, Mustain, or Corp.

Oh, and yeah Perriloux should be starting.

I was watching the Washington-UCLA game yesterday, and for the moments that I was awake, that Washington QB looked good...

(I hope Monkey doesn't read this because he's going to post here, foaming at the mouth...)

Locker looks great at times but needs to be consistant, thing is the Husky recievers arent much and they cant really run the ball. Regardless you get a leader like him that can run a 4.4 and people are going to pay attention.

i jizzed my pants. thanks alot jkim!!

jake locker needs to work on his passing though. sure, he's a white michael vick but he needs to pass the ball with more consistency and accuracy. if washington can hire mark burnell and teach him how to pass the ball, he will be a great pro prospect.

if i'm drafting someone today, it would be sam bradford or matt ryan. andre woodson looks decent but it's kentucky... Brian Brohm should be fine. thank god no one mentioned booty, he sucks.

Locker really doesn't look 4.4 fast to me, did he really run that?

I seriously doubt Locker could ever run a 4.4. Rivals had him at 4.65, scout had him at 4.6, and draftscout has him at 4.63. Either way kid is a sick athlete and could have played professional baseball too.

I'll stick with sub 4.5 for Locker how's that, the kid hasnt been caught from behind yet in all the games i've seen him play and that includes highschool. Rivals and Scout were sort of high on him at one time and then word was he might play baseball, add to that the fact he commited early to the UW. I'm not even sure he ended up being a top 100 player by Rivals, which is a joke.

Sort of like the above referance to Mark Brunell as i think that is sort of where Locker is at the same stage of their career.

He doesn't run a sub 4.5 and he was ranked 68th by rivals and the 6th best QB.

We'll have to wait till the NFL combine because you cant go by what colleges put out in their press releases. Unlike most on here i've seen him play many times in person and will stick by my comment.

Woodson

Post#16 » by bigrich88 » Wed Oct 3, 2007 1:55 pm

Andre Woodson is probably my favorite young QB right now. Great accuracy, great arm, and good mobility. I just hope he don'e become a bust in the NFL, which i think won't happen.

Which is in the SEC?
What does it matter what school he comes from, as long as he's playing that well in a strong conference?

(i.e. Jay Cutler and Vanderbilt)

The only thing that would be of concern would be a bit of a hitch in his release, almost like a Kerry Collins. I still think he'll be a high pick.
