After just finishing up The Blind Side, I am compelled to make a thread about him.

I have never personally seen him play. The book does a good job of describing him as a physical monster (6-5, 320), strong, with good footwork and good hands, and a very high learning curve.

The book said that in three years he's likely to be a top-20 NFL draft pick. But, after reading various NFL draft rankings and such, he seems like an afterthought for the first round should he declare as a junior.

The question thus becomes, what is his draft stock and what is his draft ceiling? A scouting report would also be greatly appreciated.

I'll put up a scouting report on top tackles later this week--I've been working on T and RB lists.

Oher right now grades as a 2nd-3rd rounder but there are scouts who believe he's been held back by limited coaching and will blossom at the next level. He's not in my realm but IMO he's got everything I would want except conditioning and consistency. From what I've heard he believes he can be the #1 tackle in 2009 and will stay in school to make that happen. No way he passes Long, Baker, or Hills this year.

Interesting note: The cover of the book has the QB, on a playaction, throwing into double coverage on WR1 with the LB and CB on him.

On topic: I hope Michael Oher turns out to be fantastic in the league. His story is quite awesome, and for any football fans, it's a must-read, IMO.
Though, the way that Michael Lewis described him in terms of his size and agility, it sounds like he should be dominating in the NCAA, and a consensus 1st overall pick, as opposed to a 2nd-3rd rounder as Icness describes.
