First off props to the ducks on a big win.

Jonathon Stewart, Was and have been impressed with this kid. Runs, blocks and catches the ball, right now i dont think i'm going out on the limb in saying he's a high #1 pick if he comes out this year.comparison;Emmett Smith.

SC linebackers, this has to be one of the more overrated units around, Malauuga overruns everything and is constantly out of position, Keith Rivers is solid if not spectacular, doesnt read that well and doesnt make enough big plays. Brian Cushing, still not 100% but the best of that group, reads well, has good change of direction and hits hard,he's the only legit 1st rounder of that group(Rivers will be a 1st but not by me). comparison;Chad Greenway/Mike Vrabel.

Sedric Ellis, thought he played well, made some nice plays, constantly doubled.

Missing in action; Sam Baker, Lawrence Jackson, Taylor Mays.

Sedrick Ellis deserves some props for his game against Oregon...he was in the backfield easily half the game.

Of the vaunted USC linebackers, I think Rivers may have been the best because he was the most active in my eyes, but it was kind of a tough call. Bellotti did his Sunday best to neutralize their impact with some sharp playcalling.

USC's secondary played really well but weren't tested a lot (game plan) and no one in particular stood out.

That game alone may have vaulted Stewart into the first round for good, even though statistically it wasn't anything to write home about.

Also, Walter Thurmond III played an outstanding game at corner despite giving up at least 5 inches and 30 pounds. He shadowed his man well and was effective despite the Aliotti requirement of a 15-yard cushion for WRs.

Matt Harper showed great instinct in his two interceptions and he's been playing well all year; he may see his name called in the 7th round.

Ellis is a beast, top 10 pick for sure. I was dissapointed in Rivers, he gets lost recognizing the differance between coverage and coming up to support the run. Cushing to me has a nose for the ball, got some nice hits on Dixon but missed some plays(dont think he's quite 100% yet)

Jonathon Stewart did have over 100, which is big against that team. I think his stock will keep going through the roof as the season goes on.

The SC secondary is overrated, they dont make plays. some of that may be their scheme.

Of the linebackers, I think Maualuga is the most physically gifted, with Rivers having the best instincts and playmaking ability, with Cushing falling somewhere in between the two with his athletic ability and playmaking.

Ellis would be getting a lot more hype if Dorsey weren't playing this year, he's a man out there.

Not a big fan of the SC secondary either, though I really do like Taylor Mays in the long run.
