I did one about this time one year ago, and 26 of the 32 players I put in the 1st round wound up being 1st rounders. And one of the misses was Jake Long, going #2 overall in this draft. The other misses: Quinn Pitcock, Quentin Moses, Lamarr Woodley, Sidney Rice and Marcus McCauley.

About the QBs:
This mock is much higher on them than my previous version, but I would not be surprised if only Matt Ryan went in the top 10, with both Brohm and Woodson falling into the 20s or so. And I do think that in part because I do believe Derek Anderson, Donovan McNabb, and JP Losman will all be on the trade market. Brohm in particular could fall out of the 1st, barring a rescue trade.

Three early trade predictions:
ATL deals their 1st rounder and one of their #2s (they have HOU's for Schaub) with DAL for the Cowboys two 1st rounders and Bobby Carpenter. DAL moves up and takes Dorsey, or Ellis if Dorsey is gone. ATL takes Brohm with the CLE pick and Kentwan Balmer or Vernon Gholston with the DAL pick

CLE trades Derek Anderson to CHI for the Bears 1st and 3rd rounders. Browns take Calais Campbell or if he, Ellis and C. Long are gone, Derrick Harvey.

NE trades the SF-acquired pick to SEA for 1st rounders in 08 and 09 and SEA takes Darren McFadden.

I'll update the mock after the CFB regular season is over. The Big Board WRs and Top 100 overall will be up by this time next week at the latest.

Nice mock. As a Viking fan I think I'd go with Woodson over Brohm because of the mobility issue, although it's not as if I've watched either extensively. The Vikings O-line has been inconsistent this year and it shows when Holcomb is back there. I think they need a guy who can buy time in the pocket.

Nice work as usual. One thing I noticed is that you have Malcolm Jenkins going twice.

And I know you said the top wideouts are interchangeable, but personally I wouldn't hesitate in going with Malcolm Kelly. Looking forward to the WR big board.

Fixed the double pick, replaced the Saints pick with Ryan Clady even though I have good reason to believe he's staying in school. That's about where he'd go if he comes out and the Saints need a LT to flop Jammal Brown back to the right side. I knew I missed something...

While Long is the perfect fit for the Jets and the system were going to stick with much to my chagrin. I would prefer to trade down to pick up more picks, but I dont think thats going to happen. I just feel that we have two holes on the offensive line and really only two players in the front seven that actually are a good fit.

5 wide receivers taken in the 1st round and the best one in the country isnt one of them. Jordy Nelson is the real deal people. He's 6-3 and 215 to 220 lbs. with 4.4 speed, 1000 yds and 75 catches with 4 games to go, averages 50 yds a return on 5 punt returns and has thrown for two scores, in a conferance known for good defensive backs.

As for Rivers to New England they have OLBs its their inside area that needs help. I like Rivers but not there.

I like it, I don't know about Dorsey not giving 100%. I never got that feeling until the last couple of games, but I'm pretty sure he is being nagged by an injury. I'll puke if he goes to Atlanta.

I think Malcolm Kelly is the best receiver in this draft, and I think Desean Jackson will be higher.

Also, Jammal Brown seems to be settling back in at LT, and he was a pro bowler and dominant pass blocker just 1 year ago.

Texans will crap their pants if Mcfadden falls, but I could see it.

I'm not sold on Matt Ryan as the number 1 quarterback just yet. We shall see though.

Jamaal Brown played like crap at the beginning of the year due to a nagging injury, but hes back to playing like a pro bowler.

Is there any particular reason why you think it? He has everything you look for in a NFL QB, size, arm strength and accuracy and he is a prover leader who can step it up in big situations, he is also more mobile than most people including myself thought. He seems to be the consensus #1 QB as of now so im just curious what you see that makes you question him.

Malcolm Kelly has some of the softest hands I've ever seen in a college reciever and has no problem getting open. Seriously, if the ball is anywhere near him he brings it in perfectly.

And Icness, I was wondering how Matt Ryan compares to Brady Quinn as a prospect. Will Ryan really grade out that much better? They seem awfully similiar to me.

Because I'm not super high on any of these guys, and it seems to fluctuate every time one of them has a big game.

If Ryan falls to a mediocre team, and Brohm or Woodson take down someone in great fashion, we will be flip flopping again.

When their are 3 guys like this, I'll wait till I see more, and combine/pro day/senior bowl before I proclaim any of them consensus #1.

Quinn had a more extensive body of work to evaluate and performed at a high level against a higher level of competition than Ryan has. He also got points for taking his lumps and then developing as a big winner with his team.

They do have pretty similar physical tools and style. At this point last year Quinn was head and shoulders above Jamarcus Russell, but all of the sudden everyone started focusing solely on the perceived negatives. That hasn't happened with Ryan and it might not because nobody has a real strong opinion about BC and he hasn't had the national exposure for very long. I don't believe Ryan is going to grade out any higher than Quinn did, perhaps even a little lower.

I think the Giants will draft Aqib Talib, with Sam Madison getting older and probably might retire. Ross and Talib would make a great 1-2 punch.

Colts don't have a first round pick, see Tony Ugoh trade...it's goes to SF.

Until Matt Ryan made that final throw against VT, I didn't think he looked like he even belonged in the first round. When there was a defender in his face he panicked. If he had to step up in the pocket he rushed his throws and often threw bouncers to his targets.

Not sold on him yet.
