My Mock Draft
Posted: Wed Mar 19, 2008 10:54 pm
1. Miami: OT Jake Long, Michigan
Bill Parcells always thought the game is was in the trenches. Long and Carey will pave the way for Ronnie Brown and protect the QB, whoever that may be.
2. ST. Louis: DE Chris Long, Virginia
Little is going to be 34 and Hall is no longer on the team.
3. Atlanta: DT Glen Dorsey, LSU
New coach had Stroud and Henderson in Jacksonville. Dorsey will help put pressure on the opposing QB from day one.
4.*Dallas: RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas
Whats that is Jerry Jones pants when he gets the trade done?
5. *Baltimore: QB Matt Ryan, Boston College
They trade up for the franchise signal caller they haven't has since Jesus was in grade school.
6. NY Jets: OLB Vernon Gholston, Ohio State
Mangini would love nothing more that to all out blitz Brady with Gholston and Pace coming from the outside with speed.
7. NE Pats: CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy
Is he the 7th best player in the draft? No, but the Pats are looking thin an CB.
8. Kansas City: DT Sederick Ellis, USC
They trade down and still get the guy they wanted.
9. Cincinnatti: LB Keith Rivers, USC
They really needed LB's last year. Rivers is a great athlete and would be a welcome addition.
10. New Orleans: CB Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, Tenn St.
Must upgrade defense.
11. Buffalo: WR Limas Sweed, Texas
Does this team have any tall WR's?
12. Denver: OT Ryan Clady, Boise St.
This team has always had a good o line and Clady is very talented.
13. Carolina: RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois
Mendenhall and Williams will be a great RB duo for years to come.
14. Chicago: OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh
Fred Miller is done, stick a fork him.
15. Detroit: RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon
He's no Barry Sanders but he is a solid workhorse.
16. Arizona: CB Antoine Cason, Arizona
He's a local thats very underrated.
17. Minny: DE Derrick Harvey, Florida
With some pass rush that D-Line could be one the best.
18. Houston: OT Chris Williams, Vanderbilt
The fans rejoice. A LT after all these years.
19. Philly: WR Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma
I guess McNabb will be happy now.
20. Tampa Bay: CB Aquib Talib, Kansas
Kills 2 birds with one stone, a CB to repace Brian Kelly and can play WR to strech the field.
21. Washington: DE Phillip Merling, Clemson
DE is a need and Merling is a good one.
22. Oakland: WR Desean Jackson, Cal
Jackson and Walker will help Russel big time.
23. Pittsburgh: OG Brandon Albert, Virgina
Will help replace Faneca.
24. Tennessee: WR James Hardy, Indiana
A good target for Vince Young to throw to. I think he's as big as Vince too.
25. Seattle: TE Fred Davis, USC
Either him or Keller make sense here. Can't go wrong with either.
26. Jacksonville: S Kenny Phillips, Miami
Phillips and Nelson in the secondary is scary.
27. San Diego: S Reggie Smith, Oklahoma
McCree is gone and Smith and Weddle will gobble up passes.
28. Oakland: DE Calais Campbell, Miami
Potential and size has Al Davis drooling.
29. San Francisco: DE Kentwan Balmer, UNC
Balmer will be an ideal fit at DE in the 3-4. I know you guys signed Justin Smith but he hasn't played DE in the 3-4.
30. Green Bay: CB Mike Jenkins, USF
Woodson and Harris are both older and Jenkins provides nice depth.
31. NY Giants: DE/OLB Quentin Groves, Auburn
What no Dan Connor? This teams bread and butter last year was getting to the QB with pass rush. Strahan is going to retire soon and Kiwanuka doesn't even no what position he's going to play. Strahan, Osi, Tuck, Kiwanuka, Groves now that is a blitz.
