With The First pick in the 2009 NFL draft the Detroit Lions Select:

Andre Smith, OT, Bama
*The Detroit Lions would like to make a trade proposal:
Lions Get:
Matt Cassel
Pick #48
Patriots Get:
Pick #20 & 33
The Pats say we will pack your bags Mr. Cassel. Enjoy your time in Detroit, atleast you have some protection with Andre Smith in place. You got a deal. Didn't want to add a reply to confuse anybody who has to pick. Edit by SSK99.

With the fourth pick in the 2009 NFL draft the Seattle Seahawks select:
Michael Crabtree, Wide Receiver, Texas Tech
As much as this Seahawks fan thinks we should approach defense, the opportunity to get a potentially elite play maker on this side of the ball was too enticing.

With the 5th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select . . . . . . .
AARON CURRY, LINEBACKER, WAKE FOREST (SR)

The Browns are excited to get the best overall player in the draft. The Browns, for some time, have needed a play making linebacker and can't wait to see Aaron in action.

So many holes, so few draft choices.
Al Davis selects BJ Raji from BC.
Raji is available as of now, looking for a mid to late first, an early 2nd or late 2nd + 3rd, and a late pick/decent player, which we'll never get to.
Even if the Raiders keep Raji, he'll help improve a dreadful run defense (31st), and he's arguably the BPA at this point.

With the 9th selection, the Green Bay Packers select
Malcolm Jenkins
DB
Ohio State

I was thinking Everette Brown at #9. It would make sense after moving to the 3-4. But I'm confident the Packers can pick up a pass-rusher at the top of the 2nd, and I don't want to pass on the player I believe is the best defender in this class.

With the 10th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select Everette Brown, OLB, Florida State.
Brown seems to be a nice fit for the 3-4 defense that the 49ers are finally going full-time with. I think the 49ers could use a potential threat opposite of Parys Haralson, who led the team with 8.5 sacks.
Buffalo Bills are on the clock.

With the 11th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the BUFFALO BILLS select......
Brian Orakpo - DE - Texas

I was tempted to take the QB in Sanchez, but the Bills need a pass rusher off the edge.
Denver is on the clock.

The SD Chargers select:
Eben Britton, OT, Arizona

For the 2nd straight year the Chargers take an Arizona Wildcat in the 1st round, and Britton will be brought in to play RT and replace Jeromey Clarey. If i was the chargers GM i will try and keep both Sproles and LT and look to beef up our O-line for them to run behind.

With the 20th pick the New England Patriots select Safety from Western Michigan...Louis Delmas. An obvious need for the team. Even if Rodney Harrison decides to play next season, they need to bring in another safety. I don't think the combo of James Sanders and Merriweather is a enough to get it done. The future of Merriweather and Delmas looks very promising.
