Several changes from the last one. I have a real hard time seeing Jenkins drop that far, but this just played out that way.

I will be absolutely shocked if Sanchez and Stafford aren't gone by the time Green Bay picks.

The RBs are becoming the big variables. Wells could go at 5 or 6, or he could sit until the late 20s. Moreno could go at 12 or 31 or anywhere in between. That talk you're hearing about the Bengals having interest in Moreno is directly related to them shopping Ocho Cinco and not related to the #6 pick. They are sending the message about what value they need in return--a pick high enough to get Moreno, probably with something else too.

Hakeem Nicks, LeSean McCoy, and Clay Matthews are falling for various reasons, not all of which are valid. On the other side, Phil Loadholt is getting a lot of love, ditto Darius Butler.

4. Seattle Seahawks: Mark Sanchez, QB, USC.
It's at this point I feel obligated to remind readers that this mock represents what I believe teams would do given the situation, and not necessarily what choices I would make. I just can't see the Seahawks passing on a shot at a great franchise QB with Sanchez's athleticism and upside, not when the other choices they have are just as iffy long-term.

Those two sentences seem a little ambivalent... the second sentence seems to indicate that you do, in fact, think Sanchez is a good pick, if not the best possible pick. Fair statement?

36. Seattle Seahawks: William Beatty, T, Connecticut

Love, love, love this pick. He'll fit in the new zone blocking scheme and will have just enough time to bulk up and learn from the master.

68. Seattle Seahawks: Emmanuel Cook, S, South Carolina

This is the first time I've seen Cook projected to go this high. Ahead of Patrick Chung, really? Fieldgulls won't stop drooling over Chung and would probably go into conniptions if the team took another safety in the third. Also, I know little about Cook, but see "Character is a concern" on draftcountdown.com... doesn't seem very Ruskell-ish. I do like the choice of positions, though.

What is this boards obsession with Chung? I don't think he is ever going to be an NFL starter. He cannot cover a soul and there are hundreds of players who can do what Chung does in the box and they aren't going in the 2nd round. I never quite understood the love fest for Chung.

So much for that scout telling you he thought a QB could possibly not go in the first round, huh? It looks like both are going in the top 8, possibly both top 4.

If the Rams opt for Jason Smith over Monroe, do you see the Chiefs taking Monroe? They drafted Albert last year and there are a lot of connections between Groh, Pioli, & Haley. After trading for Cassel it wouldn't be a bad idea to have two franchise tackles locked up. And it's not like they took Albert very high last year and are paying him huge money. He went 15th overall.

I guess I am just not buying the hype of Curry in the top 3. I don't think he's that good. There is absolutely no way I'd take him over Eugene Monroe . But, the Chiefs do need a ton of help on defense. I guess it's just a **** year to be in position to take the best defensive player in the draft and ending up with a LB who has never rushed the passer. I wouldn't take Orakpo at that spot either though. A defense built around Dorsey & Curry isn't a bad start I guess. Do you think Dorsey is going to be able to truly live up to his potential playing the 3-4 NT though?

If Hakeem Nicks fell to the Bears at #49 I would be pleasantly surprised. I think they are more likely to end up with Robiskie. If both Robiskie and Nicks are gone, I hope they don't reach for the next tier of receivers.

If that's the case I'd like to see them go DE or DB.

I'm completely with you on Chung. I graded him as a 7th rounder and I know I'm not alone in that assessment. Some people love him though, to each their own. He reminds me very much of Justin Hamilton from VT a couple years ago. Ham was bigger but they played the same style and had about the same speed and quickness numbers, both real intelligent guys. Ham was out of the league in under two seasons despite being good on special teams.

I think the Chiefs would still take Curry over Monroe. Orakpo over Monroe too. They've been looking hard at a lot of the later-round OL and I suspect that's where Pioli will address that issue. Phil Loadholt or TJ Lang in the 4th round would be strong possibilities, if either is there. That didn't happen in this edition though.

Don't sell Curry short on his pass rushing; he had an extremely high success rate when Wake turned him loose. His "explosion" numbers (10-yard split, short shuttle, broad jump) are better than either Everette Brown or Aaron Maybin.

I will be physically ill if the Packers take A. Smith with Raji still on the board.

Agreed. Nicks dropping to the Bears at #49 would be probably the most best-case scenario that's realistic.

The Vikings shouldn't be drafting for depth in the first round. Cushing's a fine player but Greenway, Leber, Henderson is a pretty solid linebacking core.

Yeah I do. Before the knee he was generally regarded as a better overall player than Nicks. He is quietly rising, much how Nicks is quietly falling.

Just an FYI but the "What I would do mock" is up on the main page. That should answer some questions. I also posted the DE and DT big boards in the last couple of days.

Final mock will not be up until Friday night. It will be 4 rounds.

I like the 2nd and 3rd rd for the vikings, but a LB depth in the first makes no sense. With their needs at CB why wouldnt they take Davis/butler instead? Or even Pettigrew?
