Wow, didn't see that one coming.
That put a little bit more cash in McCoy, Bradford and Claussen's pockets.
Ruined Mallet's day too

I am kind of mixed over his descision. I mean, your a potential top 5 pick, and your turning down millions, and perhaps he might get injured a la Bradford, but with Sarkisian there he improved greatly and maybe will get better in his senior season... I would declare if I were him though.

Rookie cap is going to destroy is first contract... lol.
Good choice from a development standpoint if he stays healthy though, but it doesn't matter what he does, as a senior QB, he will drop.

I applaud his decision. QBs should spend as much time in college as possible as long as they are continuing to develop. Locker can iron out a lot of minor deficiencies by going back.
Now I have to redo the latest mock draft. FWIW I had him falling to Seattle at #8, and I think that 7-10 range was his likely draft slotting if he didn't go #1, and I think he understood he wasn't likely to go #1 with Suh out there.
FYI heard from a Dir. of Coll. Scouting from an NFL team today that they have been told Ryan Mallett is 50/50 on coming out. Cam Heyward is leaning towards heading back to school but is undecided, and Greg Jones will announce he's leaving Michigan State by the end of the week. Jones is much more highly regaded in the scouting community than current projections by ESPN and TSN would have you believe.

He should have put his name into the hat.
Going back risks injury, front offices nitpick your game even more, and who knows how good UW will be next season. I could see if they were a Pac-10 contender but I don't see it.
The positives have been mentioned. A former NFL QB coach will continue to develop his skillset in the pro-style offense. If he stays healthy and continues to grow in the offense, then he has a chance at #1 next year. Hopefully he stays healthy and has a great season.

big mistake. why do you play the game? for college experience? if he doesnt want to go pro, then dont. get his degree and go into marketing or somethin. but if he wants to turn pro, then go pro. and as matt leinart didnt learn, he should go when the iron is hot.
he is an extremely HOT prospect right now. if he wants to develop, DEVELOP IN THE NFL. he will also get paid.
bad decision.

Oh yes, because waiting 4 years worked out TERRIBLY for Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees.
There are risks to going back for another year, but when there are parts of your game, to improve, going back, and developing when theres no pressure, to increase the longevity and success of your career, doesn't seem so outrageous.

I love the fact hes staying in school. tells me he wants to do everything he can to work on his game and be 100% ready to rock out at the next level. I want Locker to be the face of the browns 2 seasons from now.
