This is post-Senior Bowl and Shrine game. Next edit won't be for a couple of weeks.

Like I said in the piece, this one leans heavy on defense at the expense of the OL and WRs, sort of the opposite of the last one. I kinda think this is more likely to happen than not, because the OL in this draft are not as good as last year. A rough grade comparison makes Russell Okung almost the same as Eben Britton last year, and Okung will be the 1st or 2nd tackle taken (Davis is in the mix, and he's got Clady potential that we'll probably never see, alas), while Britton was the 5th (I think) last year. Trent Williams and Bruce Campbell wouldn't have sniffed the 1st round last year and a lot of mocks have them as top 10 picks; I just don't see that coming to fruition. Maybe they gain momentum after the Combine, IDK...

Hardest players to slot were the second tier of WRs--Gilyard, Tate, Briscoe, LaFell, J. Williams, Price, Roberts. I think Tate and Gilyard wound up about 10 spots apiece too low, but I stuck with where I had 'em.

The big linchpin picks are Tampa at 3, Washington at 4, and Seattle at 6. The picks between 7 and 13 probably won't change at all, barring some breakthrough...like Michael Vick going to Buffalo or Tampa taking Dunlap--both of which are distinctly possible.

Couple of questions since I'm a huge Skins fan:

1. Would not be surprised if the Skins took Spiller, but wouldn't that complicate things considering Portis AND Betts are on the roster? Top 5 money, I don't expect Spiller to play backup or share carries considering how much money will be invested in him.

2. Charles Brown - I'm assuming this pick would be made based on the fact that he's 6'6'' 285 pounds? Quick, nimble offensive linemen seem to be the norm for a Shanny-run offensive line no?

Just a general question, but why is McCoy dropping all the way to the 4th round?

Love Joe Haden going ahead of Berry. Haden is just a remarkable talent. Probably the best high school player ever in Maryland. If you want a fun highlight reel to watch - go check out Haden in High School.. just ridiculous.

I like the Bears mock.. Calloway would probably start right away at RT. I'd like to see Myron Rolle though instead of the Florida LBer in the 4th however. Nice work as usual though.

With Oakland being completely unpredictable, do you think there is any shot they take the home grown Clausen? I know it sounds ridiculous, but I have a few reasons:

1) Al Davis loves California kids.

2) Al Davis likes throwing the ball deep. I have seen some people question Clausen's deep ball accuracy, but every time I watched ND this past season I saw perfectly thrown deep balls to Floyd & Tate.

3) The Raiders do not have a 2011 1st round pick due to the Seymour trade. You have got to believe at this point they have lost all hope in Russell. Davis might not want to wait 2 more years for another QB. Have Clausen learn behind Gradkowski and then allow him to take over. Gradkowski seemed to win over his teammates last season and Clausen while a bit of a weirdo has similar moxy IMO.

An offensive core of: Clausen, McFadden, DHB, Murphy, Miller looks nice. Gotta fix the OL, but I bet Clausen works well with those targets.

I like the Lions picks for the most part. Not fond of Byers in the 4th even though I know people love USC players. I'd rather take a guy like Asamoah if your taking OL in the 4th round.

For the Falcons:

Is Pierre that much different than Sibury that we took last year?

I would think they would jump on Kindle if he were available in the first.

He showed a lot of promise as a passer as the year progressed, and he backed that up at Senior Bowl week. He's not there yet, but Indy doesn't need a QB for another 2-3 years minimum. By that time they can work with him and develop him into a starting-caliber NFL QB. He's got a real live arm and sees the field well for a guy of his limited experience.

Frankly I didn't understand the Sidbury pick, as I thought he was an oversized OLB or a 3-4 LOLB, not a 4-3 end. The Richmond coaches told people that too, but Tom Dimitroff is smarter than us. I anticipate Sidbury playing LDE on passing downs with Anderson sliding inside and maybe some of Sidbury playing as a stand-up extra end at times.

JPP is much more of a speedy edge rusher that fits the 4-3 RDE mold better. From game 1 to their final game he went from being a clueless physical freak to being a pretty savvy rusher and a much better run defender. He still needs a lot of work and experience but the best comparison to him is a young Javon Kearse. Consider ATL his draft floor.

2. Brown fits the Shanahan mold you described perfectly. I've heard he's already up to 296 but we'll find out in Indy in 3 weeks.

McCoy is dropping because his shoulder injury leads to him not being ready for next year. He might be physically okay but he won't be able to go in preseason or camps, which renders him unusable. Put that on top of concerns about his arm strength and ability to read defenses and he falls. It didn't happen in this mock but I can easily see Sam Bradford falling out of the top 15 for the same reasons. FYI I happen to like McCoy better than Bradford (I see Joey Harrington with better accuracy) but neither are close to Clausen in my opinion.

You like Clausen better than bradford and then give us bradford instead of Clausen. Do you hate the seahawks? (You jinxed us twice by predicting that we would go to the superbowl, we had 4 wins and 5 wins respectively). Cant disagree with the rest of the mock though but i have know clue about the "other" Rutgers Tackle.

Also your opinion of the John Schneider hire? Have you met him personally before?

A few weeks ago this guy was the toast of Jet fans in a lot of places, but now the drums of Brandon Graham are beating. Jones I like though and this pick does have to be on the DL.

I personally like Arenas more than Franks, but no qualms here.

Just out of curiosity though, the Jets are known for targeting a player and getting him. I hear a lot of talk about Kyle Wilson these days [Even though it's way early] could you see the Jets affording to trade up? When factoring in the fact they have no 3rd and 4th round picks and the final four rule.

Love the first pick for the Patriots, I'm on the Sergio bandwagon. Still not sure why the Pats are taking Tebow, does he have a chance to play something other than QB?

Overall I'd be happy with that draft from the Pats, so with the Pats history I'm sure it has no chance of happening.

I love Kindle for the Falcons as well.

Nicholas, Lofton and Kindle would be a young deadly LB corps imo.

I think it's the Tebow personality that fits best in NE. I don't think he has a chance of playing on any team, but it gives NE a different look if Brady happens to go down. Brian Hoyer is a good backup, however, and NE seems to like him a lot.

I do like Clausen more than Bradford but a lot of pundits (Mel, McShay, Nawrocki, Mayock) prefer Bradford. I am very turned off by how poorly he handled a pass rush, plus his shoulder injury. I've seen that reaction to a rush before in Joey Harrington and Tim Couch, and that is the one thing that never improved in either of those two busts with NFL experience. If you fear it in college--and Bradford most certainly did--you're going to fear it in the NFL. IMO Bradford is very similar to Couch, from the collegiate offensive system to the athleticism to the arm strength to the shoulder problem.

People forget that Couch took the Browns to a playoff game in their 4th season, which was the only year they had both a running game and some decent protection up front. I think Bradford can be successful under those circumstances, but like Couch he'll disappoint otherwise.

I have met John Schneider but I don't really know him. He is very well-regarded by those in the buisness and has had other offers in the past. I thought for sure Pat Kirwan would take it and that would have been better, but you should be happy w/ Schneider and Carroll.

Where would Bradford fit then? Would he would fall all the way to Carolina(Perfect fit with a Great running game and Line) or Minny? Cleveland is a perfect fit especially with Mike being non-committal about the whole QB situation.
