and frankly i'm amazed that Bryan Bulaga is that high, is he really impressing people or are tackles in high demand (or maybe a little of both?)

Re: Mock Draft 7.0
Good work...
I don't see the Jets not selecting a CB with one of their first two picks unless there is some incredible value at other positions available (and neither Sapp or Gilyard really qualify for that in my eyes). I think with a lot of late first and second corners out there this year (Warren, Franks, Wilson, Ghee, Robinson, Cox, McCourty, Jackson) I would really be surprised if they don't try to find a second corner to play next to Revis. Lito would have to be resigned (although they would have to restructure or sign him after a cut or something because he's due for a big bonus), Lowery is not good enough and Strickland is always injured. CB is one area of need for the Jets that they have to address in the offseason and they don't really have that many other glaring needs personality wise...

It's much more tackle demand in Bulaga's case. I wouldn't take him in the second round. He's the next Jeff Backus, an average starter for a decade. I want more splash than that, but it sure seems like some teams think "average starter" is a major upgrade and worthy of a real high pick.
I like Calloway a lot but his limited athleticism will keep his draft slot down. Remember I'm trying to predict the draft, not tell you what picks I would make. Though some are the same...

I think the Jets are going to be very aggressive in free agency on the corner front. Maybe Dunta Robinson, maybe Carlos Rogers at the 1st round tender, maybe Richard Marshall with the 1st round tender.
The huge class of RFA's could really turn this draft upside down. It depends on if teams are willing to give up picks for more proven but more expensive players. Are teams going to give up their 1st rounder to sign a guy like Richard Marshall or Harvey Dahl or a 2nd rounder for a Ryan Cook or a Derrick Johnson? Hard to day at this point, but if they do then a lot of picks are going to change hands between now and April. I do expect teams like the Jets, Eagles, and Cowboys to be active, if anyone is.

Re: Mock Draft 7.0
I can definitely go for Eric Berry at Buffalo. Pair him up with Jairus Byrd, and that'll be a nice combo for years to come.
I'm surprised you don't have the Bills picking anyone up on the OL. Maybe they can dangle Lynch and Donte Whitner as trade bait.
I like the Lefevour pick in the 3rd as well. Hopefully him and/or Brian Brohm can amount to something, so the Bills won't have to trade for an aging QB.

You think there's a chance that someone will sign Donald Penn and/or Barrett Ruud from RFA and give up the picks? Penn got hit with the high tender so he'd take a 1st & 3rd, no official word on Ruud yet.

Re: Mock Draft 7.0
WOW, if the Jets want Rogers at the first round tender, where do I sign? Rogers can cover, but he can't catch. I still remember that dropped pick in that playoff game against Seattle a few years back.
Question o - you had McCoy in the 4th round in the last mock. Now he's in the 2nd round? What changed?

Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Does that change now that McCoy isn't going to be in the combine?

I could definitely see that, too. After last season's playoff run the expectations are high and Tannenbaum has always been aggressive in recent years, especially filling obvious needs in free agency. He hasn't been shy to deal picks either but has always been fairly smart about it.
If they would make a deal for a corner of the ones you mentioned I would take Marshall. He is the youngest of the group, Robinson is kind of a knucklehead and Rogers while always solid to good doesn't have the same upside as Marshall to me.
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

Safety and OLine for Bears. Sounds good even though I don't know about the players really.

or . . . hmmm . . . they could possibly get a guy like cromartie from the chargers. a tandem like revis and cromartie as dbs would be awesome. the SHOW predicts somethin like that to happen.

How did you know?!?

It is a very good deal and you can't doubt Ryan's evaluation of defensive talent. Cromartie needed a change of scenery and he fits our scheme very well. Now we also traded Rhodes, gonna be interesting who will replace him. But same here, I also trust Rex that he will find an upgrade. Rhodes never lived up to his potential in recent years and it seemed like he wasn't a good soldier at all...

Re: Mock Draft 7.0
I think the very deep safety draft class had something to do with the Jets' parting with Rhodes.
funny, that's exactly what everyone is saying in San Diego about Cromartie
Just started to cook 8.0, hope to have it up by the end of the week

The thing though is Rhodes had his great year like 4 seasons ago and Cromartie about 2 years ago. He is also younger and many say he was misused in SD with a lot of zone schemes. Rhodes had a chance to eran Ryan's trust, he didn't. Now Cromartie gets his chance to play for Rex and not for Norv...
