The media, fans, and players all want a playoffs system. I know this is all about money, but I am sure there's a way to implement a playoffs system that would generate massive amount of money, just ask the NFL and NCAA basketball

Yeah it's weird. All the reasons they tend to give are false. Back when this talk started teams played 11+1games and playoffs could have easily been achieved by adding no more than 2 additional games to that. They said they didn't want to add that, but they've since added it to the regular season, so it clearly wasn't a concern of theirs. Also we know with certainty that a playoff system would generate tons of money.

I'd say what it basically comes down to is lobbying and micro-optimization. The Bowls lobby the individuals in power which stalls a playoff, then the conference add their title games to cash in for themselves on the current system. The result is that it's now harder than ever to make the switch.

yet you seem ok with Ohio State being appointed to a NC game.

their strength of schedule is not even close. Not to mention OSU destroyed every single team with the exception of #15 Illinois (MSU game wasnt as close as the final score) while Hawaii barely beat La.Tech with tech failing to convert 2 point try. They also needed a last minute TD and a last second INT to beat a team that has been manhandled by Ohio State.

i think hawaii proved to us last year that they might go undefeated but they dont have much competition to go through while doing it, so i dont think they should get in unless they have some real talent that sticks out, like a team that you can look at and know right away that they are capable of keeping up with an ohio state. idk who i would put in the national title. i think usc's offense in the air is overrated but they have a good ground game and a magnificant defense so i say they will win it all after battling there way through the pac 10.

and your point is? given the piss poor conferences both teams play in it is not so far-fetched that they ll run the table

The winner of OSU/USC is going to be just as important to the NC game this year as Texas/OSU was in 2005 and 2006.
