Here to eat crow.

UGA blew.

Alabama looks good for now. I still don't think they can maintain this.

Depth, depth, depth.

I'll eat crow later if need be......lol

Not to make excuses but before the season, when Georgia got ranked No.1, they still had their starting LT, their starting NT, their starting FB (who btw are all All American worthy and All SEC players) and tonight they also lost Dannell Ellerbee, All SEC starting inside LB, on the first drive...

Add those players and UGA was hardly overrated in preseason.

please stop making excuses. its a big time game. its at home. and they got blown out by 31 pts in the first half. heck, alabama didnt even have to score another point in the 2nd half to win that game.

At least they made up for the points they gave away in the first half.

Yeah, Georgia just self destructed in the first half. I mean theys neglect a fumble on the first drive, give away 50+ yards on the first 3 drives because of penalties, have a punting average of freaking 24 yards and on top of that lose a fumble that would have been a first down. Not to make excuses or take anything away from Bama, but if Georgia even makes half of these unforced errors, the game is a lot closer... if...

BTW terrible gameplan by Willie Martinez - corners way to far back, not nearly enough blitz packages and pressure. Everybody knew the front 4 wouldn't get much pressure against Bama's Oline so bring the fast LBs against a QB who gets rattled easily.

geee, more excuses. THEY GOT BLOWN OUT AT HOME!!! period. all of those SEC teams are overrated. theyre just like any other conference, a couple solid teams, the rest are overrated.

gotta agree with lake here, no matter how many injuries you have going down 31-0 at home to alabama is inexcusable, especially since their biggest offensive weapons were healthy. Georgia is a solid top ten team but at no point during or preseason i considered them NC contenders, and they proved me right.

alabama is looking good right now and their schedule is favorable comparing to other contenders but i dont see them in the mix when all is said and done. i ve been wrong about them before though.

btw, big 12>SEC.

Georgia got throttled by an inferior Tennessee team last year, corrected a lot of their issues (similar issues to this year) and won out. I wouldn't count them out just yet. They have the schedule to get them right back in title contention.

Lineplay matters more though than all offensive playmakers in the world. And with Sturdivant and Owens the Dawgs are missing to big time players. But whatever...

I wasn't making excuses, I was just stating facts. Did Georgia play terrible and didn't show up?!? Sure. But are they overrated because of one game against a very good Bama team?!? I wouldn't say that.
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies...

Overrated is a useless and inaccurate word this early in the season.

What matters, is the test of the season itself. Every team likely finds one or two land mines in their schedule. What matters more though, is WHEN the land mine is stepped on, more so than the game itself.

Sure, UGA looked like "dog crap"...... but so did USC in losing to what is a pedestrian OSU team that has no where near the purported talent of USC. What's worse, losing to, and getting hammered by a near equal team running on all cylinders, or losing to a team that arguably does not belong on the same field?

Take your pick.....

USC wasn't as great as the hype that followed the Ohio St game, nor is UGA's reputation as bad for laying an egg on Saturday.

Argue merit later, like late October.....when enough games have been played. Then you can decide who was given status beyond their means.

Georgia fans were very impressive Saturday. It didn't look like a single person left during halftime.
