Re: The Polls: Week 5
USC was number 1 when they lost to Stanford and Oregon State.

Re: The Polls: Week 5
^^That's only because USC was horrifically overrated (like they always are).
I admit that the Pac-10 is not what it should be this year. But the amount of disrespect the conference is receiving far exceeds what is reasonable.

What has the Pac-0 done to earn any respect? Their only ranked team (I'm assuming Oregon dropped out?) lost to a team that's otherwise 1-3.

Re: The Polls: Week 5
I would say that the lack of ranked teams has more to do with the continuous pattern of east coast bias that has historically been prevalent in the NCAA. Face it, if the Pac-10 was on the east coast they would automatically get far more respect.

Re: The Polls: Week 5
The ignorance is astounding.
So, tell me again about the powerhouses of Youngstown State and Troy? How about schools like Tulane, Chattanooga, Appalachian State, or Southeast Missouri State? Tell me about these great powder...er, I mean power houses that have graced the early schedules of teams in the Big 10, SEC and Big12. I say no conference deserves respect when they have teams that cherry pick high school teams for their season openers.

Only if playing on the east coast made the teams better. No one other than USC deserves to be ranked. And like I said, they lost to a team that is otherwise 1-3.

I'd rather start with a "tough" conference opener, and get that cupcake schedule USC gets in conference every year, that they still manage to **** up.
