yeah you should really stop believing whatever garbage ESPN/Yahoo/CBS spews. "easily deserving" = LOL. Please feel free to bump this post when Bama runs them over and reconsider your stance.

people overrating just because of the name of the school, gotta love it. who is TCU?????

1. I realize Bama will most likely shred them (or anyone else)
2. I actually think Cincinatti is a better team than Texas
3. With all due respect to the MWC , which certainly is not the cakewalk it once was, its still not the Big 12.

Texas is perfectly deserving to go, its not an outrage they're making it.
I was cheering for Nebraska to win this game so one of TCU/Cinci could have a shot.

I agree that the MWC is not the Big 12, but this year, the Big 12 was not the standard Big 12. I think you could argue that the Big 12 was the 4th or 5th best conference this year (after SEC, Pac 10, Big East and maybe Big 10).

I think Cincinati and TCU are as deserving as UT by looking at their schedules. I won't say that UT is not deserving, but the Big 12 was down this year (not their fault, but it should have an affect on their rankings), and their out of conference schedule was pathetic, even laughable.

Edit to add...I agree, Bama should manhandle UT based on last nights performances. But, who knows what happens after 5 weeks off (this is one issue I have with bowl games, and reasons I there was a playoff system. There's a chance players will lose their edge/focus after a month of not playing games.)

This should be the year a pure defensive player wins the Heisman. Perfect storm, offensive players are disappointing, and Suh lit it up against a strong Heisman contender right before the vote. I'll be very disappointed if anyone but Suh wins it.

im gonna guess ingrams gonna get it after mccoys stinker but big suh definitely deserves an invite. we'll see though

absolutely amazing performance by bama last night, the big thing i was worried about is saban not opening it up for his qb's but he let mcleroy make plays last night and he was the best player last night. and my oh my i had no idea he had that kind of zip on the ball he was zooming it to receivers, i saw this guy whoop my hs ass in high school so it's cool seeing him have success

and imo tcu would give bama the best game, theyd have beat the hell outta texas last night. they need an invite into the big 12 and possibly realign the conferences (move osu to the north :) ) it baffles me as to why no big time school hasnt gone after gary patterson, seeing how he just signed an extension though i doubt he's leaving anytime soon

also, holy crap but tebows release is so damn long, it's like a pitchers windup when he throws, rears back real far and lets it go, that's gotta change. that's what he shouldve been trying to change

Yeah, Ingram will probably win it. Maybe you can help me out. Ingram just doesn't seem THAT impressive to me. Don't get me wrong, he's great, but to me he doesn't stand out like a Heisman back should. Also, part of the reason he's getting the attention is the team being #1, but is mostly about having a fantastic defense.

take away the auburn and arkansas game, he has burned up every single defense he's faced, and these arent bad defenses either, they're sec defenses, i mean he did it against vtech, lsu, florida, tennessee, ole miss, south carolina etc...

the thing is he doesnt stand out that much b/c he's not the type who busts off these gigantic 80 yard td runs, he does what saban wants him to do, run the ball and get the 1st down to keep the clock moving. he's not flashy just a workman like back

and what's funny is his back up richardson may be even better than he is

i wouldnt hate if suh got it, i think it'd be cool but id imagine that nebraska losing what 4 games now he's not gonna get it though he's as deserving as any defensive player

TCU vs. Boise...awesome, gotta keep the non $$$ conferences together!! and the ball is dropped yet again....

I really wonder what it's going to take to make them realize that a playoff is necessary. The way they handle this situation year in and year out is inexcusable and a playoff would be better for everyone but...nahhhhhhh why change it?

aeronaeohirneraoihnaerhno SO DUMB.

also, TCU is going to wreck them.

didn't Tebow win the Heisman the year Florida lost 4 games? It seems like tebow's heisman year, with the 4 losses, opens the door for a guy like Case Keenum. (Note, I don't think Keenum should win...just using him as a comparison).

I'd like to see Suh invited, and wouldn't complain if he won. But, I think it'll be Ingram or Geirhart. I don't think tebow or mccoy deserve it.

Edit to add - I agree...the BCS is horrible to match-up Boise with TCU. They each should face a BCS team.

He ran for 1500 yards in 13 games. Last year 2 guys in the SEC were at about 1400, one of whom was Coffee at Alabama. Neither of them were on the Heisman radar at all. The two years before that McFadden put up bigger numbers. Now, McFadden was a Heisman candidate which you can use to support the argument. But this much is true: Ingram's number don't stand out that much even in the SEC. Now, part of what I'm after here is arguments for why Ingram is much better than the numbers say, so enlighten me if you can. But, I have a very tough time believing that Ingram is the frontrunner if his teams defense wasn't so damn good.

By that same token, how sad is it that Suh's case is probably going to get ruined because he plays on a team that was 11th in points scored in the Big 12 and could "only" carry his team to within an arguably blown call of winning the championship over the #2 team in the country.

Suh shoould win, and it shouldn't be close, but he won't, he doesn't play a sexy position.

i dont know what to tell you, but in reality nobody really deserves the heisman this year, id say that'd be the biggest reason suh would win it especially compared to last year when i think about every big time team outside of bama and tcu are worse. im a homer so id like to see ingram win but i wouldnt be pissed at all if suh won, it'd be awesome in fact

See this is what's galvanizing me. If there were a great offensive performance this year, I wouldn't be bitching. I'm okay with the fact that the glamor boys have a big leg up on it. But in a year where there isn't any offensive guy that doesn't make you go "Wow, he wouldn't even be a finalist some years", where there also happens to be a defensive guy that really stood out, can't the voters step outside the box just a little?
