This board still won't get a lot of traffic yet, so let's keep it basic with news:
-Urban Meyer will take a leave of absence from Florida...at some point. Recruits fled, but many came back after hearing his reversal.
-Pete Carroll is leaving for Seattle; Joe McKnight and Damian Williams have already declared for the NFL draft; recruits are bailing on the Trojans.
-Texas Tech is on the verge of hiring Tommy Tuberville; South Florida needs to hire a coach and Mike Leach needs a job.
-Alabama should be awesome again next year, as their losses will be negligible even as McClain and Co. leave for the NFL.
-The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is today, and a bunch of kids have committed to schools. (Oregon got one! WOOO!)
Feel free to add on what you'd like!

so South Florida should look for somebody that recently got fired for mistreating a player after firing a coach for mistreating a player? makes sense.

Lane Kiffin goes back to USC. Holy freaking crap, I never thought that would happen! Congrats Lakeshow, I think he's got the arrogance and presence to keep the program at a high level, barring sanctions of course...

My ole pal Al Davis was right after all. What a douche.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

I hadn't thought of that angle but you're dead on balls accurate.

So Urban Meyer is now saying he won't take a leave of absence and ESPN has proclaimed this years Florida class the greatest recruiting class ever assembled. As a UGA fan I can only hope that the majority of these guys don't pan out.

If there's one lesson to be learned about this year's recruiting process it's got to be that you can't count Lane Kiffin out in anything. Late developments Wednesday evening have the USC Trojans on the verge of passing Florida for the nation's No. 1 recruiting class.

Re: NCAA Off-season: For all recruiting/coaching news!
henderson didn't send in his loi. he wants to see how usc's ncaa hearing goes before committing to a team that may have a lower likelihood of a bowl game in the next few years than washington state. pac10 finished very strong overall.
