Week 3 game thread

Post#1 » by craig01 » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:24 pm

Tonight it's LSU at Miss St.

Both teams already game tested (LSU beat Oregon, and Miss St lost at Auburn), so this should be fun tonight.

Lots of interesting games this saturday

LSU holds on with a solid defensive effort.

A playmaker on offense needs to evolve though. Russell Sheppard is probably one of those elements once he returns.

Navy is always underrated. I've been telling people all week that Navy would give SC a run and no one believed me (Navy doesn't win games, etc). I'm surprised more teams don't run the option in college; if you do it right, it's very successful.

Speaking of successful options, I think Georgia Tech beat Kansas by 40 today.

Notre Dame mixed things up defensively and it worked. Kirk Cousins looked okay but the Irish coverage was 100% better than it has been.

Ohio State was just awful, I quit watching about halfway thru the 3rd quarter, too painful. Miami wanted it a lot more and credit to them for going out and whipping the Buckeyes.

Got this text from a scouting friend who was at Baylor watching Robert Griffin:
"LOL biggest cheer is for the rain. Game is yawner, Griffin on autpilot."

Miami just flat out dominated OSU. Ugly game for their fan base.

FSU isn't there yet as Manuel has more growing pains to endure.

You should have seen my Facebook last night. I had about 25 different friends commenting on how bad Ohio State was and a couple of them are OSU football alums. Worst game I've seen them play since the Woodson Heisman game under Coop.
