No real surprises here.

Can't wait for LSU/Bama.

I think the way OK State and Oklahoma both dominated over the weekend that it will be tough to keep the loser of their matchup out of a BCS at-large berth. The Big 12 South is stronger than the SEC West. It will be interesting to see if the Bama/LSU loser or Boise gets the other spot. Arkansas can have a say in that too.

Penn State still getting no respect. IMO they are better than any other Big Ten team and I'd take them over South Carolina or Houston too. They play ugly football and that gives a lot of teams problems. Very underrated defense.

id say the big 12 south might be better if a&m wouldnt piss away a big lead every other week. and i dont see why penn state really deserves respect, they eke out wins every week (largest conference victory by 10 points), perhaps they could beat south carolina but id say the only reason they could is b/c their offense is just as incompetent (even before the lattimore injury) dont be surprised if they drop these last 3 games

I'm not saying PSU is great, they have a lot of offensive issues. But they find ways to win and they are a bitch to play against because they are physical and nasty. i think on a neutral field I would take them over any Big 10 team and any PAC-12 team except Stanford, maybe Oregon if they sort out their QB issues. They'd get killed in the Big 12 because the games are so different, and they're too punchless offensively to handle any of the good SEC teams.

South Carolina without Lattimore and Garcia just isn't that great. They went from being a legit BCS bowl winner to a team that will struggle against Wisconsin in the Gator Bowl or Houston in the Liberty Bowl. Too bad because I think they had a real good chance to pull an upset against LSU or Bama in the SEC title game, and now they probably won't even make it to it.

TAMU is mega disappointment. Mike Sherman couldn't coach the Packers and he can't coach the Aggies very well either.

i think penn st is underrated because no one saw them coming at all, everyone expected wisconsin, nebraska and michigan st to be the big dogs in the big ten

but all those teams stumbled and penn state just kept plugging along, i know when iowa lost to them i was pretty disappointed that we couldn't even beat penn st- but now looking back perhaps it wasn't such a bad loss after all

playing ugly football doesn't help in a beauty contest either

Penn Stat has definitely stayed under the radar......but offensively they just don't have much to offer.

I think they'll get beat soon.

They've got what left? Nebraska is this week, then I think they go to OSU and then they play Wisconsin, not sure where though. If they win two of three they're in the Big 10 title game. I think they'll beat Nebraska in a boring slugfest, probably beat OSU in a game where the first touchdown wins, and it's hard to say about the Badgers because they've lost to both even marginally talented teams they've played.

I think people forget the PSU loss is to Alabama and their defense was great in that one. But I agree, they're not going to outscore anyone if the defense slips up.

On a side note, anyone want to bet me that the Big Ten won't get more than one bowl win this year, and that win will be their game against the MAC in Detroit?

penn st plays at wisconsin

and i'm a giant big 10 homer and i am not confident in any of these teams in bowl games- i mean i hope every year it changes but its never good

they've got 6 bowl eligible now, and probably will get 8 teams to six wins

if they only go 1 for 8- yikes
