LSU drops Tyran Mathieu

BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU has dismissed Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu from its football program for violating school and team rules.

While I do think that he's quite overrated, this is a big hit for LSU's defense and special teams.

On another note, this kid is a punk. I think everyone knows this is probably the product of another failed drug test. Now, he'll probably go play for a school like North Alabama, like Jenoris Jenkins, and try and boost his draft stock by dominating a lower conference/division.

I don't feel any sympathy for this guy.

He's touring FCS schools, McNeese St. among others. They have talent to replace him at LSU but not proven talent.

Done as a NFL prospect too. At least Janoris Jenkins passed a drug test and never got arrested for this level of drug thuggery. Because Mathieu is a repeat offender he could go to jail for up to 5 years.

Oh wow I just saw a headline yesterday about Mathieu and I thought they were just rehashing the old story for some reason, I can't believe he got arrested again. Well actually I can believe it. Amazing still. Just to confirm, he was arrested for the first incident that got him suspended? I'm rusty on understanding his legal situation and criminal record, oh well I guess it doesn't matter right now.

The SOB needs to sitout and serve his time, then come to USC and finish his collegiate career.. we need the depth, secondly, we have several marijuana dispenseries around the state, that would assist in his rehabilitattion
