Marcus Lattimore Injury

Post#1 » by Rafael122 » Sun Oct 28, 2012 6:04 am

By far the worse thing I've ever seen. I flipped to the channel when it happened and I wish I hadn't. The look on his face after he went down did it for me, dude was going nuts. Word came out that he broke his femur and patella, and tore all four of his knee ligaments. Everyone is saying his career is over, I'm of the opinion that he could still get drafted in the draft, and that particular team can stash him and get him healthy. If there's anything positive coming out of this, is that the injury was to his right leg. He tore his left ACL last year, I think that definitely would have been a career killer if he was his left knee again.

Best of luck to him during his recovery

That made McGahee's injury in the national championship game against OSU look like a minor injury...

Apparently he did not break any bones but tore all four ligaments in an extreme hyperextension. Out for at least a year. Spurrier said he'll be welcome back in 2014 and will get a medical redshirt next year. That he can confidently say right now that Lattimore is done for at least 20 months tells you the devastation of the injury. I hope he can prove me wrong, but I can't see him being his old self after this. Quite a downer.

He'll need to sit out 20 months to get a redshirt and a full healthy senior season. I don't know that Spurrier was assuming Lattimore would need that entire time to get healthy.
