Unfortunately we have nobody to blame but ourselves on that. The Michigan St. game was ass

Incorrect, we have Tim Beck to blame for that lol. 70% Tim Beck and 30% Urban Meyer for continuing to put up with that complete and utter joke of an offensive game call from Beck. Does feel better though having Urban adjust after the game sending Ed up to the box to save the day and absolutely embarrass scUM at their own house lol.

Don't lump me and other Ohio State fans into that too :D

Fair enough lol

Big 10 overall is better than the SEC

Not every SEC team is good, obviously there are bad teams in the SEC just like there are in any conference.

Mississippi State looks to be a BAD team, so what?

Didn't see the Georgia game but they beat a ranked opponent on the road. Seems pretty legit to me.

A&M I thought looked like hot garbage most of the game yet still beat a higher ranked opponent.

As much as I hate Auburn their D looked great against the #2 team in the country and Heisman favourite. Almost pulled off the upset.

Tennessee had a blunder but they started slow last year too and tore it up near the end, that App St game was a wake up call for them.

Other than LSU and Miss St the SEC looked fine. Alabama's D has been so dominant a lot of SEC teams try to emulate their D and neglect their offense..teams like Florida, Auburn and LSU come to mind. That's why Big 10 teams looks so prolific offensively in comparison.

EDIT:And if we are gonna play the ' overreact to Week 1 game' I can play too.

Big 10 seemed like nothing special yesterday. Sorry. Other than OSU and Michigan who stood out?

Iowa looked ok I suppose. Did they look better than Georgia, Texas&M and Auburn? Nope. All 3 of those teams played ranked opponents.

And even the Big 10's best teams weren't in the same class as the SEC's best team. Blowing out the #20th ranked team > blowing out Hawaii and BGSU.

an unranked Wisconsin squad beating a supposed top 5 team is nothing special?

That Georgia/UNC game was neutral site btw, at the Georgia Dome. So it wasn't really a "road" game.

With your last point you're using Alabama as an example, when I stated "besides Alabama, the SEC is overrated."

If you put the two conferences together I'd still have Alabama at the top, but then I'd have Michigan, OSU, Iowa, and maybe even Wisconsin over any of the remaining SEC, you could argue Georgia above Wisconsin and Iowa, and I can definitely understand that argument.

Other than Alabama and Georgia, the rest of the SEC looked incredibly mediocre, and I firmly believe that the Big 10 has more teams that can make the playoff rather than the SEC

Yeah, gotta give credit to the Badgers. They played great. I still think LSU will get their act together, too much talent to play like that again. Tennessee too, they are better than they showed. It's only Week 1, Alabama had an early season loss last year too.

I didn't know the Georgia/UNC game was at the Georgia Dome, don't think it changes things that much as UNC is a very good team.

one thing i enjoyed a lot about lsu-wisconsin game is how a sec team got exposed and lost to an inferior team one of the few times they dared to make a trip up north. sec teams and southern teams have massive advantage playing most of the bowls and so called neutral site games in their backyard, while big ten teams are always playing away. nobody really talks about this, made ohio state's pounding of alabama that much impressive.

It's a one team league in the SEC... again. There will be a solid SEC team or two, but other than that nothing to write home about. The point isn't that nobody in the SEC is good, but many SEC fans and ESecPN would have you believe every and all SEC teams are god.

UF was another clunker, they struggled vs UMass for god sakes, was a 10-7 game til the 4th quarter and UF and was a one score game still til 8 minutes left.

Bama looked good, but nobody in their right mind can think USC was actually the 20th best team. Bama gets some credit for sure, D looked awesome, offense isn't too shabby and got rolling, but USC is a joke. They were ranked 20th based on their name. They were 8-6 last year, and don;t look to have a better season than that again this year honestly.

The days of the SEC being the powerhouse is over. The world needs to realize there is a lot more than SEC football, and honestly fans outside the SEC are sick of seeing the preferential treatment year in year out.

SEC molly-whopped everyone in the postseason last year.

Yeah, the conference had a rough week 1, but let's wait a few weeks before making proclamations like the SEC is dead lol.

And yeah sure, there is a lot more than SEC football. Feel free to watch any conference you want. Reason ESPN covers the SEC more is because college football trumps everything in the south. It's all about ratings/money with ESPN, the college football watching demo-graphic is huge in the south. Obviously football is popular everywhere but I'd say the Big 10/Pac 12 landscape is a little more diverse , baseball is also huge in Pac 12 land and hockey is big in BIG 10 land.

That and the fact that like 8 of the last 10 years the champion has come from the SEC might have some to do with the 'over'-coverage of the SEC.

That Florida St/Ole Miss game was a weird one. I turned the game off at halftime thinking it was over.

Texas/Notre Dame had to be the game of the week.
