I picked Brohm (check the prediction thread).

But, I really want it to be Colt Brennan.

One mistake i think some make is downgrading a guy when his team loses, whether it be for the heisman or even his draft status, there are a lot of reasons for teams to lose. Doubt anyone is jumping of the LT bandwagon after they lose to the Pats.

thats how heisman works though. no matter how good a quarterback is, wins and exposure is what counts for heisman voting. if hawaii loses single game brennan wont have either and his chance of winning will be close to zero, no matter how much he deserves.

Cant give McFadden and Brohm a pass two weeks in a row they're out of the running. Woodson i would have to say is moving on up but not sure his numbers will be enough. Tebow is on the radar.

Dennis Dixon is still keepin his name on the list, had about 400 total yards and 5 TD's in a win this weekend for the Ducks. The big game for him will be this week against Cal, if he has a good game he will be a front runner, a bad game though would all but kill his chances to make a run.

I like the idea of Dennis Dixon keeping his name in it.

If you asked me who is the most dominant player in college football, it's Glen Dorsey, but he won't get any Heisman consideration. :nonono:

My ballot right now would look like this:
1. Tim Tebow, and I was certainly not high on him preseason
2. Glenn Dorsey, the best player in the country by a wide margin
3. Matt Ryan
4. Pat White
5. Mike Hart, though he's got zero shot because of their bad start. UM might not have scored in their first two games without him--in the 5 drives he's sat out due to injury they have 4 total yards.

Last defensive lineman to win a Heisman: Notre Dame's Leon Hart in 1949, and he played offense too.

There's no doubt Dorsey is a dominating force, but it's simply an offensive award. Woodson is the only guy on defense to win it since Hart and he was largely helped by his return skills. The only other defender to win the award was Yale's Larry Kelly all the way back in 1936 and he played on offense as well.

No defender has ever won it without being a significant factor in the offense or special teams. Even with a weak field, I think it's foolish to hope for Dorsey to break this trend.

Yeah but I can still hope. Hugh Green came in 2nd back in the late 70s and IIRC Orlando Pace made it to NYC his last year. Hopefully Dorsey can at least finish top 5.
