After yesterday, here's my ballot:

1. Tim Tebow (If he isn't #1 on your list, you're either a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) or an LSU fan)
2. Michael Crabtree (I don't care if he's a Frosh, he can play)
3. Glen Dorsey
4. Chase Daniels (This will change after the Kansas game)
5. Darren McFadden

My take with one week left:

1. Tim Tebow, a mind boggling season.

2. Chase Daniel, will win it if he goes into Vince Young vs USC territory on the Sooners, could drop severely with a bad game.

3. Dennis Dixon, his value to the Ducks is unreal, and they still won't lose more than Arkansas.

4. Darren McFadden, finished the year well enough to deserve the trip to NY, but not a legit contender imho unless you vote based on talent.

I have no idea who's in the Heisman race anymore.

My vote goes to Lloyd Lake and Michael Michaels.

I MEAN REGGIE BUSH. Sorry. My bad.

I think the "underclassmen can't win" rule is a joke, but the voters set a precedent when they passed up Herschel Walker (among others). If Missouri beats Oklahoma I say Daniels gets it.

Tebow dominated FSU and tied the NCAA record for rushing TDS by a QB. I'd love to see Tebow win the heisman, tehe.

Times change. There's still a bit of a bias against frosh & sophs, but I don't believe voters will definitively eliminate someone because of their class. Peterson almost won, and he was a freshman (not a soph), playing with a Heisman winner (kiss of death), having much less noteworthy of a statistical year. Daniels wins it if he's godlike against Oklahoma, but I bet voters won't hesitate to give Tebow the prize otherwise.

I decide when times change. Herschel should be the only underclassmen to win it and a 2 time winner. Damnit!

Seriously, no Dennis Dixon in anyone's top 5? No mention of the guy who essentially dominated college football for five weeks before going down for the year?

I'm of the mindset that it's Tebow's award to lose, but dear lord.

He's 3rd on my list, and could move up to 2nd depending on how Chase plays. Though could see changing my mind and moving McFadden ahead of him.

Tebow has to be the front runner but i wouldnt have any objection to Daniels if he beats the sooners.

Funny how nobody here likes Tebow (I don't either), yet we all seem to respect what he's done...

My current ballot:
1. Tebow
2. Daniel
3. Dennis Dixon, IMO greatly helped by how freaking awful Oregon is without him
4. McFadden
5. Pat White, because I strongly believe the best player on the best team deserves a trip to NYC. If they lose to Pitt, send Laurinaitis in his place.

Is Chase Daniel really that good? I knew nothing about him before this year.

Think Drew Brees at Purdue, only with a little better foot speed. Uncanny accuracy in throwing lots of quick-hit, short routes from a base spread; throws to everyone on the field; can zip the ball into tight spots if he has to but doesn't have the big-time arm down the field. His leadership and decision making have been critical for Mizzou's success, but they do have some pretty good players all around him too, i.e. their #3 WR is far better than any opposing #3 CB, both their TEs are NFL talents, Tony Temple is a savvy RB, Maclin is Percy Harvin with better hands and toughness. Daniel is the ringleader that makes it all happen for them.

Daniel was pre-season All Big 12 second team and made the initial list for the Unitas Award, so he wasn't completely unknown but rather very under the radar. It's not like Mizzou has much of a national football profile or is ever on TV. I remembered him lighting up Ohio U. last year and have kinda followed him since then, but he's greatly exceeded anything I expected.

Yes. :D

And he'll be back next year, because the NFL thinks he's too short.

Who knew it could feel so good to be a Mizzou fan?
