This Hawaii team is better than that Boise State team, but I think the result will be the same. Assuming our defense continues playing the way it has been playing I'm going to say Georgia wins about 35-21.

Zabransky had the worst game of his life that game. Sure, some of it had to do with playing a solid Georgia team but he had something like 5 turnovers in the first quarter. I think Boise State was clearly the inferior team and should have lost that game but everyone always points to that score when a mid-major wants to argue how good it is(now Boise has that Oklahoma game) and I don't think Boise was nearly as bad as that score showed. I'm going with Hawaii just because I want them to win by a fair amount, and a close...nearly indecisive championship game. It would be hilarious if there was a chance of Hawaii getting a split title.

Anything to mess with the BCS!

Our defense was in the back field all game and making great plays on the ball. They didn't have an answer for anything we were doing. But that's in the past. Hawaii is the next Weak Ass Conference team to go down. :D

Wow. The 36th best rushing offense against the 39th best rushing defense in the nation.

Suddenly I'm liking Hawaii just a little bit more now.

Surely the competition has nothing to do with those stats...They're stopping Northern Colorado while we're running against teams like GT, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, etc. Look at what Washington did to their rush defense.

I am rooting for Hawaii, but I think the Cartel Conferences will win out in this game.

Well, yeah, but it's not like Hawaii hasn't played a team with an effective rushing attack (UW, Boise State). They'll be challenged for sure but who's Georgia going to throw the ball to? Knowshon Moreno 15 times?

Meanwhile, I'm not completely sold on Georgia's ability to stop the quick pass, a favorite of Brennan's. Even that vaunted SEC speed will be tested in that case.

Washington tore them a new one and Boise State didn't do too bad. Their backs got 126 yards on 30 carries. Our rushing attack is a lot better than both.

Don't sleep on our receivers just because they don't have flashy stats. Bailey, Massaquoi and Henderson are all very good receivers who can beat you deep. Moreno and Brown are no slouches either.

Hawaii's passing game, no surprise, is the only the about their team that worries me. We're going to have to score a ton if we aren't able to get in the back field. That's why I mentioned it depends on which defense shows up, the one before the streak or the one during this streak. If it's the one we have seen over the last 6 games then it won't be much of a game.

Hawaii wins by never letting off the gas--they threw the ball on 22 of 24 plays when they were already up 31-13 (and a departed Colt) against Utah State. That's usually a problem for BCS conference schools because so few teams play that style (TTU and Purdue are about it). They tire out the DL, they keep LBs off the field, and they know their 5th WR is gonna be a lot better at what he does than the opposing 4th CB.

I don't see that being a real advantage against Georgia, because Georgia has depth in the secondary and speed. They also have the ability and discipline to sustain long drives of their own, and that makes run-n-shoot offenses nervous and often leads to imprecision. And if everything isn't perfectly executed in that style of offense, it's not very effective. Louisiana Tech isn't a good team, but they had fast CBs and did a great job of tackling and nearly beat Hawaii in a game where the Rainbows were clearly forced off their sharpness. Because this game will be played in a familiar setting for UGA and a very long way from Hawaii (who play progressively worse the further away from home they travel), I really like Georgia. I don't rule out the possibility that Hawaii can force the tempo and pull out the shootout win though.

I prefer this actually over a team running the ball like West Virgina. Georgia's secondary should be able to handle this and Hawaii will be forced to run the ball. Don't be surprised if West Virgina rubs off on June Jones.

Georgia is better against the run than the pass. West Virginia has Pat White who completely changes the run game. Brennan is not that type of QB. Hawaii also has no one that comes to close to resembling Slaton. The only way Hawaii runs the ball consistently is if they're up big.

They actually dropped the Rainbow part several years ago (I believe in 2000) and are now just the Hawaii Warriors.

They also haven't used that logo that was posted in the first post since then as well.

With that said, being from Hawaii, I'll be cheering for them. I believe Georgia will win though.

I hope Georgia wins, just so we don't have to hear that Hawaii should have been in the NC, or they are the "true" champions.

Georgia, by lots.

It is exactly what I want to hear, because unlike you...some of the teams I root for in games aren't handed a championship because of the glamor on their roster. Yeah, LSU is a top team in this country and maybe they should be the national champs, but at the expense of LSU I am cheering against any undisputed champion this season because I would like this big dog, bullyish championship system flushed down the drain.

There was no clear best team this season...LSU lost 2 games in triple OT you want to argue? OK, erase those 2 losses and add Florida, Alabama, and Auburn games as losses because those were absolutely pulled out of the fire with late(and sometimes lucky) plays.

I realize that with most middle of the road squads they don't open up the season with aspirations of being a national champion but if a team earns respect and wins every game it plays then why should it not get a shot to participate in some sort of playoffs and knock off the big dogs(George Mason?).

I am vehemently rooting for anything that further muddies a system that probably would still rather crown Notre Dame as champions instead of Hawaii because their boosters funnel in more money.

I really wouldn't want to take advice from a qb who LOST to the team I am going against.
