you can't blame willingham.. charlie had enough time to recruit the players he want.
i think the previous guy was being sarcastic....... curious as to how the weis lovers explain this one. win or lose, it ain't looking good either way (edit: ND just scored, now must go for 2 to tie)

I was being sarcastic.
Since Willingham has left he gets the blame for everything that goes wrong in Domer nation.
I will let your post slide - just this once though.
And not kicking that FG may have been the worst coaching decision I have seen this year. Pathetic. I can't name 5 coaches who don't attempt the kick there.
Great win for Navy.

What Weis lovers are you talking about? I seem to be the most vocal ND fan here and I've repeatedly said his coaching this year has been awful.
In the press conference after the game he said he went for it because the kick was into the wind and they hadn't made a single one from that distance in practice. I still think it was a horrible decision and he should absolutely be lynched for it.
But it's not like I really cared that much if we won. I mean, the season was over 5 games ago. This was going to be Navy's best chance to break the streak for the forseeable future and they took advantage of it in a crazy game.

weis is doing much (much, much) worse than his predecessors..... but those hot recruiting classes will give him another 5 years (

In the past 5 years, ND has twice been ranked in the preseason Top 25.
In those same 5 years, three times they've finished in the Top 25 at the end of the year. So...yeah.
And no, Weis is not doing much worse than Ty or Davie. You seem to think this is the only year he's been here, but he's won 9 and 10 games the two seasons before this one.
He needs to show substantial growth in the next two seasons. At least a bowl game next season and 9 wins the season after that. Anything less and I have no problem with him being fired. You can't get rid of a coach at the first bad season, both his predecessors had multiple bad seasons and terrible recruiting. If we fired Weis, we'd likely lose a large part of the #1 class. It makes no sense on any level.

as for the actual play on 4th down WOW, that was the play of the week the guy jumped over that notre dame player like he was nothing
