It's Mack Brown's stepson. That's the funniest part.

Even funnier was watching Dennis Erickson self-destruct in a statement game for his team. Way to go, Dennis...hope you still have some of that cash that went towards Miami players' salaries. You're gonna need it.

If you saw his interview on SportsCenter after the game, he had more media members around him than the players.

Can't wait for the games tonight. The Champs Sports Bowl in 2 minutes is going to be the best of the bunch. Matt Ryan and Boston College against Javon Ringer and Michigan State.

I'm surprised people made such a huge deal out of that. Disappointed with the ending of the MSU-BC game. Hoping MSU could at least send it to OT. Hoyner (sp?) played like **** all game but that TD pass was beautiful.

I am so glad they put bowl games on the NFL Network now. The 2 bowl games going on don't excite me at all.

I liked the UCF-Miss State game. Good defense from both teams to shut down great running attacks.

Oregon State should have blown Maryland out of the water.

The Alamo Bowl was pretty disgraceful for a while there. Good to know the better team (and coach) won.

Agreed...that game was a disgraceful win for the Beavs. But as soon as Moevao went down for the second time and Canfield went in for the rest of the game, I knew we were doomed. Canfield is an idiot...seriously, my bird who broke his leg a couple years ago by trying to land on a ceiling fan moving at full speed has more brains than Canfield.

I'm glad Jake Gelakoska's red-shirt year is over now. Hopefully he's learned enough to make Can't-field irrelevant next year.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

My forecast column for the NYE Bowls, which for some reason never got posted...

Independence: Alabama vs. Colorado, Dec. 30th: What a difference in perception for the two teams in this matchup. Colorado is thrilled to be bowling again, whereas Alabama and Little Nicky Saban barely escaped monumental embarrassment by making this bowl despite losing their last 4 games. Both teams are 6-6 and have almost identical rankings in offense, but the Crimson Tide have a much better point differential despite playing in a much tougher conference. They spanked a good (but schizo) Tennessee team and nearly beat LSU. Of course they did lose to Louisiana-Monroe too. The Buffaloes play hard but don

Oregon and South Florida have tied the Sun Bowl record with 18 penalties...in the first half.

Outside of that, it's been a decent game.

My only concern for the Ducks was whether or not Bellotti would mail in the game, as is his wont. Luckily, that was not the case.

South Florida sucks so bad. I thought they were supposed to be good. I don't normally say bad things about other teams. (Oklahoma excluded). But I have seen zero strengths for this South Florida team. They don't do anything well. And the Ducks defense in EFFING them up. That hit on Matt Grothe was absolutely crazy.

Worst day of prediction ever!

Some of the games were laughably bad. The Clemson/Auburn game was just yucky in so many ways.

Just on a rough count, I got up to 20 on missed tackles in the AF/Cal game--and I didn't even watch the 2nd half. Nice comeback, I guess :dontknow:

im just glad i got to go to see the alabama, my cousins other grandpa used to be a college ref (his last game was about 6 years ago in the cotton bowl) then he scouted refs for the nfl and now he does the booth review. he got us some great seats at the 25 yard line about 20 rows up. some people behind us were kids of one of the refs and it was his last game and he ended up tearing his rotator cuff, sucks for him.

i was glad it was a good game but it sucks seeing your team get up 27-0 then nearly blow it, if it was gonna be close i just assume it be close the whole game. i hadnt watched colorado all year but i expected them to open up the playbook more, they ran the same run plays countless times and it took them awhile to get going. but early in the game when bama was flyin to the ball it was amazing looking at the speed difference between the 2 teams.

3 more things, wallace gilberry is a beast though im not sure he gets real consideration for the pro's. there were probably more lsu fans than colorado, some were tailgating just to drink and enjoy the atmosphere some were there w/some clever nick saban shirts.

but the best shirt went to some louisiana monroe shirts displaying:
ULM - 21
Bama - 14

not sure why but it made me laugh even though it was one of bamas darkest days.

Missouri kinda dominated its non-BCS bowl game.

But, it's just not the same as winning one of those prestigious BCS bowl games, you know, like the one featuring a third-place team against a team that lost by 41 points in the only game it played against top-notch competition.

Leave it to Arkansas to bring the rest of the conference down. Florida better step it up too.
