Some very strong games this weekend:
BYU at Boise State
Baylor at UL Monroe suddenly looks like an intriguing game
LSU at Auburn
Michigan at Notre Dame
Kansas State at Oklahoma
Arizona at Oregon
but the big one is Clemson at Florida State
Oregon and FSU need impressive wins to build computer points if they want to hang with the loser of LSU/Bama in the BCS title game race.

Big test for FSU.
3 rollovers, a defense that might be a bit complacent given their early dominance, and facing a team with explosive offensive weapons.

Its all about the Pac-12. If USC blew their chance, then the ducks will win it. Ive seen their firepower, and the ducks have this kid from Los Angeles that can singlehandedly win games all by himself. Our depth at USC is just crap right now, we used to have 5stars back up 5stars...FU NCAA!!

The Pac 12 is indeed very strong. I think it's the #2 conference in college football at this point. I could very easily see the loser of Oregon vs. USC playing in the Rose Bowl. Oregon looks scary good but their weakness is in the secondary. With 4 first round caliber WR's (Woods, Lee, Allen, Wilson) in the conference, that's a very bad weakness to have and could make things very interesting this year. Arizona, Arizona State, or UCLA could also play spoiler.
And i'll continue to say this. Aaron Murray is the best quarterback in college football. I also really like Tyler Wilson. I'm also not as high on Landry Jones or Matt Barkley as everyone else is.
Garrett Gilbert is my pick for the guy who will finally have a breakout season and live up to some of the hype. I think once he gets comfortable with the Run & Shoot, he could put up some very scary numbers towards the end of the year (and next year).

lot of big games
if fsu gets past clemson, it seems like they have a pretty good shot at running the table right?
in other news i don't think the big ten is going to be very good this year

anyone that's watched landry jones knows he's really not that great. especially when teams get pressure on him
and i seriously hope you're joking about gilbert, baylor and a&m are middle of the pack teams at best in their conferences and he sucked sh*t against both of them. please for the love of god tell me you're joking about him! that smu team is an embarrassment

You gotta look at the circumstances behind it instead of only the paper result. I don't think what we've seen so far from Gilbert is a reflection of what he's capable of in that offense. Because he was taking credits at UT to graduate in time to play for SMU this fall, he didn't participate in spring practice and had just a few weeks of training camp before the season started. I don't think ANY quarterback could step into fall camp like that with a new team and a new offense and immediately be good. We'll see him struggle in the short-term but once he gets comfortable, I think he's going to go nuts.

Interesting magazine cover this week of this kid Ive mentioned coming out of Los Angeles. DAT. Since ive seen him in pop warner or snoop league to be exact, there were tons of fast kids in this league, but still, none of 'em could catch this kid or were even close. Went to high school the same. Now at Oregon? Different venue, same story. I think we have the defense to stay close, but our offensive punch is not hittin on all cylinders right now. That will be the matchup, cant wait.
