Don't forget Notre Dame. Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen have both been jokes. I don't think the school has produced a quality QB for over a generation.

But if I'm picking strictly from the two you mentioned, it's probably USC. Mark Sanchez, Carson Palmer (post acl injury), and Matt Leinart were all drafted in the first round within this last decade, and neither guy has lived up to expectations. I can't even remember the last Florida QB who was drafted prior to Tebow.

Well it stands to reason. Weve got the best linebackers, from Jr. Seau to Clay Matthews. Top notch Offensive linemen throughout our history Boselli/Kalil brothers. Defensive backs, Ronnie Lott/troy polamalu for example. Etc....

So of course, we are going to be rated highly in the QB department. Because USC is a program that turns out greatness all over the field at multiple positions. So people naturally have high hopes at QB.

But I would say this, the state of California has excellent QBs, and it is a reason why "some" California universities are highly rated QB programs. Kaepernick. Aaron Rodgers. for example. Tom Brady is also another example of another California kid at QB.

Uh, Clausen was the 48th overall pick and Quinn went 22nd. There have been plenty of top 10 QB busts, try harder.

QB wise its USC they always get the top ranked HS QBs but they never pan out in NFL. I would never trust USC QB but it seems to be the same thing every 2-3 years.

To be fair USC produces mass amount of pro talent at other positions. While Alabama a dynasty team produces very few good NFL prospects.

At the beginning of the season Alabama had 35 players on NFL rosters, USC 43, LSU 39, Ohio St 31.

Gonna go with USC here...you cant turn a blind eye to the fact Palmer, leinart, and sanchez were all high draft picks and havent panned out although I still believe palmer is a decent nfl QB who had just been stuck with some very incomplete teams which have hindered his ability to be better than he has been...other bad nfl QBs from USC: cassell, marinovich, peete, and john david booty.

What I meant by that was those Bama players are not prime time players. Most of them getting drafted in rounds 1,2 and they are fringe starters besides a few.

Now while the numbers show those 43 USC professional players. The odd part is that for a few years USC was hoarding 5star players. Therein lies the difficulty of recruiting. Most if not all recruiting sites use the 5star system. Now weve gotten tons of those kids, but the star system doesnt always equte to future success.

Usually they don't because the stars are dependent on physical attributes meeting certain criteria.

quinn slid waaaaaay down to go number 22 though

regardless, it's pretty amazing that the irish haven't produced a quality NFL QB in 35 years

oregon might be the best answer to the thread question. akili smith and joey harrington were both busts as #3 overall picks

Have to go with Florida on Tebow alone. among the worst picks of all time by the broncos.

can you call Palmer a Bust? he has been a solid starter for many years.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/i ... son-palmer

I think a lousier pick was Vince Young.

He couldn't throw well in college, and getting picked in the top 3 was a a worse mistake.

if he had a brain he would've still been playing in the nfl at a decent level IMO

USC. I would take Tebow over any of those recent USC guys. At least Tebow had some success.

mark sanchez had more success than tebow, and at least he is still in the league.

Put down HATERade son! Tebow sucks balls as a QB.

Tebow gets a bad rep. He played well with Denver. People forget how much they sucked before he took over. They even won a playoff game. He obviously isn't a starting QB on a good team, but he shouldn't be out of the league. He brings too much media attention, that's why teams dont want him.

At any rate, the thread is about who puts out the most overrated QBs, not the worst ones. USC is the top in that category.

sc should properly be called linemanU but that's not glamourous. tailbackU is another overstatement
