UAB may shut down football program

CBS sports, espn, SI, deadspin among others are reporting that an announcement may be made this week.

The AD was termed today.

What a shame, especially since the school has been somewhat grounded by Alabama throughout their football history.

Economically, yeah it probably makes sense since it probably costs more to run the lights at Legion Field than the amount of ticket revenue generated.

Still, here's hoping they can sort things out.

That's too bad, I hate to see any team have this happen and UAB has a decent history.

UAB was in a no-win situation with their stadium situation ..... and that being controlled by the Bama BOT's.

They didn't have much of a history of success, but let's face it.....a football program brings a lot of vibe and exposure to a university.
