I was a little skeptical at first. But, he's been solid so far. Definitely a better coach than some past ones.

Interesting seeing an AZ Wildcats football game thread...don't think I've ever seen one before, though I guess I could say the same for AZ basketball. Hopefully we can get some NCAA basketball forum interest this college basketball season though.
Don't expect much from the Cats here but I never know. They are likely without their top qb and rb and relying on a freshman rb. May be ok against Grambling St and Hawaii, but not Washington.
The Arizona Wildcats open Pac-12 play hosting No. 9 Washington, and they might do so without their starting quarterback and running back.
Quarterback Anu Solomon (knee) and running back Nick Wilson (ankle) are listed as questionable on the weekly injury report released on Thursday.
Solomon has been out after injuring himself in practice following a season-opening loss to BYU. Brandon Dawkins replaced him to lead Arizona to wins against Grambling State and Hawaii. Against the Warriors, the sophomore showed some improvement from a hit-and-miss debut, completing 16-of-21 passes for 235 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Dawkins also rushed 15 times for 118 yards and three scores.
Meanwhile, Wilson took three carries before hurting himself in the Saturday victory against Hawaii. This, following 138- and 116-yard performances in the first two games.
Freshman back J.J. Taylor took over at running back and rolled up 168 yards on 18 carries, including a 61-yard touchdown run.
Head coach Rich Rodriguez told Tucson reporters this week that Arizona will be careful not to put too much on Taylor, who is now the top option if Wilson isn’t able to play.

I honestly wonder if Arizona will be better without Solomon, he was hot garbage against BYU.

Arizona is making a game of it so far. Dawkins playing well enough to where I wonder if Solomon's days as the starting QB are done.

Can't believe they've lost another rb. Nice interception though...much needed.

Would have been great to see AZ pull that out with the starting QB and top two really good RBs out. They might have been able to make a run in the PAC12 if their players came back...between that close loss and the close BYU loss they were so close to winning both. Oh well...such is college football, and they have no chance at postseason other than a meaningless bowl game at this point.

Dawkins looks like the real deal.
