Week 8 Game Threads: ALL SATURDAY GAMES HERE

Post#1 » by bleu » Thu Oct 20, 2016 4:14 pm

This week instead of having separate game threads, we're just going to have them all combined. There is a lack of big, meaningful games this week, but there are a lot of decent ones, so we'll have the game talk for all of them in this big general game thread, just like what we do on the NFL board every Sunday.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20
7:00 PM Miami @ Virginia Tech - ESPN
7:30 PM Troy @ South Alabama - ESPNU
10:15 PM BYU @ 14 Boise State - ESPN

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21
7:00 PM South Florida @ Temple - ESPN
10:30 PM Oregon @ California - ESPN
10:30 PM San Jose State @ San Diego State - ESPN2

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22

call me a homer, but i think BYU has a good change of winning tonight, this is Boise State's first real test of a game this season.

BYU really hasn't done anything yet to show that they'll be any more of a challenge to Boise than Washington State or Oregon State either though. Not saying BYU loses, I think it's a really close one. But not many teams are able to get wins in Boise, it could be a dogfight.

byu tried a fake punt on a 4th and 19 in their own end zone. that might be, without using hyperbole, the dumbest f*cking thing i have ever seen

Finally got home and turned on the TV. Looks like it's been a pretty good one so far, I'm hoping for a dramatic ending.

These may be some of the most awful announcers I remember hearing for a college football game. Just brutal.

My question exactly. I was under the impression that a blocked kick was treated like a fumble, in which case the clock should certainly keep running there if the kicking team recovers.

I already said it, but they were inexplicably bad. Like worse than many high school announcers I've heard.

with that turnover differential this should've been an easy BYU win but BYU's offense of course, sucks it up the whole game. I'm with all these close losses, i'm excited for the direction BYU has under Kalani in the future

So...let me get this straight...BYU is 0-2 in games this season which it's defense has forced 5 or more turnovers...?

to be fair in the utah game, they had 4 of their own. This game however, is much worse
