Haven't decided yet if I think Cotton Bowl is going to be competitive or not. On one hand, Wisconsin is a powerful trenches football team with a solid Dline and should be ticked off after blowing the B10 title game. On the other hand W. Mich could be another team in the line of unexpecteds to do well in bowls games like Boise St and Utah has etc. I'm taking Wisconsin either way, but can't decide if it will be close or not. I also can't decide on Rose Bowl. Does PSU play flat in 1st half again, or do they play a complete game. How much longer can they comeback when having a poor half? I'm taking USC for the win at the moment but I cannot decide by how much.

Really glad to see Pumphrey get that all-time rushing yards record today. I certainly expected Houston to be more competitive in that game though, they really just rolled over and died.

back in the day i talked to some players about the bowl games and they all said 99 percent of the bowls are just vacation opportunity , most players and even coaching staff give half assed effort. that's why it is largely futile exercise trying to predict these games and find some meaning from the results.

99%? So you're saying that there is roughly one or less bowl game the entire bowl season that players actually care about? So bowl games like the Rose Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl, etc. in non-playoff years are just a vacation? And teams like UTSA who are going to their first ever bowl game are just out there half-assing it? I get where you are coming from that probably Georgia Tech and Kentucky are far more interested in the beaches of Florida than they are in the TaxSlayer Bowl, but lets not over-exaggerate things. Many bowl games have a lot of meaning for players and coaches.

There are way too many Bowl games to count. Something like 42. That's just insane. A lot of these bowl games are basically a glorified vacation for players & coaches. Reduce it to like 12 bowls, including expanding the playoff to 8 teams & it will have more meaning. A 6 or 7 win team shouldn't be able to qualify.

just seeing this, but I was genuinely worried BYU would lose. Happy with the direction Kalani is taking the team

I'm somewhat intrigued by a few of the bowl games today, but overall the bowl season has been a crapshow so far this year. Very unimpressed.

Yeah it would be hard to argue that he's taking them the right way. He's obviously a very good coach, makes Bronco look like a chump

Certainly one of the coaching greats of all time. I'm very sad to hear about his passing, I'll miss hearing his voice on local sports radio and hearing all the stories he has to tell.

ok state absolutely destroyed Colorado tonight and this is after Mason Rudolph and James Washington said they're coming back for their senior seasons. needless to say, im pumped to see those 2 and the continued maturation of Justise Hill at rb next year. if the defense is even half decent, they'll be in the big 12 title game

LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida still yet to play. Tennessee looking good . Georgia won. Still much football to be played.

Mississppi State and Vanderbilt are horrible teams. They'd lose to anyone . No news here.

Don't think A&M and Arkansas took their games seriously.

These pre- New Years bowl games are the worst. They really are dreadful in every way.

Supposed 'good' teams like the conf-runner up Colorado and the resurgent Washington State Cougars are losing to chumps of other conferences. Utah beating 6-7 Indiana by 2 points. Yeah Pac 12 sure is an underrated conference!
