Outside of baseball, I'm not sure the two share all that much in common. Russ was a football player first that tried baseball for a bit & then went back to playing Football. It sounds like this guy has dealt with some major demons off the field.

Can't say I've watched any Arizona football so far this season, but I'll have to catch a game at some point to see this kid play. Interesting story for sure.
