Do you guys like the BCS?
I hate it. Cinderella stories can't happen like in basketball. Boise State should have had a shot at Florida IMO.
What do you all think?

I hate it as well. I wish they had a tournament like in basketball, but that would probably take too long with all the teams and stuff.

Everyone hates it, but it might never change.

I can't stand the BCS. A championship should be determined by teams beating each other on the field, not by the media and computers appointing the contenders. There is just too much room for bias in the BCS. Some sort of playoff system can and should be developed.

I kind of like it.

I like the premise of perfection, the fear that any one loss can ruin national title hopes and the weekly updates of media/coach and BCS polls.

I know its certainly not perfect, but its unique and unlike any other sports postseason, which is kind of refreshing in a way.

The perfect solution would be an eight-team tournament, but I think it's too good an idea to go through.

Probably some comment akin to Churchill's line about Democracy applies.

As people like 2 say...BCS=Bull Crap System. But some things good came out of it, more chances of teams who barely play against each other play against each other. It sometimes stopped the pac-10 big-11 rose bowl event..which is played out. Depending on who plays each other.

But someone on PTI mentioned that its weird that Miles Brand can't do a college playoff but can talk about having a 68 team college hoops playoff. It should be 64 there & a 4 team playoff in college football. And less bowl games...the worst record a team can have in order to be in a bowl game is either 9-3 or 8-4.

It is obviously flawed, however it is better than the previous system when you consider we never would have got to see the texas vs. usc rose bowl under the old system.

The good thing about the BCS is that when you will always have 2 of the top 3 teams in the country play for the national championship. If you have 3 unbeatens, then the formula is going to disappoint someone, and it is human. However, in the years past when we had two unbeaten teams at the end of the regular year, they would each go to their own bowl games, play 8-3 teams, and rubber stamp a co-national championship. Now, there is at least some semblance of a national championship. I'm not a huge fan of the BCS, but it does help in some regards.

Yeah, like what happened to Auburn in 2004. But what I hated about that situation is the media being bigoted against the west coast again  . Normally in a matchup between Auburn plays against USC, i'd always pull for Auburn. But...AUBURN WOULD NOT HAVE BEATEN USC ANYWAY! Somebody should tell the whole solar system that!
The USC 2004 team was a lot stronger than the 2003 team that shut out Auburn in their crib.
What was NCAA gonna do? Screw USC over again? Couldn't do that cause there would be hell 2 pay. Why don't they complain that Oklahoma got in instead? Can't screw over Bob Stoops! You know how he does revenge. Ask the 2003 Tex A&M & Oklahoma st. teams.
