I really wish I could've watched this game. App. St is one of the colleges I applied to, so I was really psyched to see this happen.

I think it shows how critical speed is, and Michigan doesn't have any. They're in serious trouble against any team that runs 4-wide or spreads or has RBs that can catch and run.

it seems like to me that michigan took app state lightly coz they play in I-AA. well they better do some research coz app state are that good - 2 time defendin div IAA champ. they are ranked #1 in div IAA. you dont take that kind of team lightly. big mistake for michigan.

Hmm. Well, there's no doubt Michigan deserves to be bashed for what happened today. But really, an upset like this one should not be taken to say anything so general. Anyone who thinks this means that Michigan would lose to this team on a regular basis is crazy.

Well Michigan does deserve to be bashed after its performance today. That was terrible and they deserved to lose. Carr should catch a bulk of the blame though. Going for 2 two point conversions and failing on both turned out to be the difference in the game. I know the players on the field have to get the job done, but that has to fall a lot on the coach as well. I doubt after today you will hear any of us Michigan fans defending Carr, its time for him to step aside and let someone else take over.

As far as the Big 10 as a whole goes. Whoever said as a conference that they probably are overrated, after watching the past few years how much these teams have struggled in their bowl games I'd have to agree. Ohio State and Michigan were #1 and #2 almost all last season and neither looked deserving of those ranks when they took the field against Florida and USC. The Big 10 is still a power conference and always will be, but right now they are not on par with the SEC and some of the Pac10 teams.

You haven't watched the class of the big ten, Wisconsin yet. After you watch them, Penn State and Ohio State you won't think the big ten is overrated.

I'm not so sure that its been talked about a whole lot yet this year. Michigan was picked to have a huge year again and contend for the national title but those hopes are long gone now. I think the talk is more the lack of success the Big 10 teams have had in bowl games the past few years. No matter how good the Big10 teams have played they have been a total disaster once they are on the field against teams from the SEC and Pac10, and now even Division 1-AA schools. :banghead:

*That* right there is an excellent reason to say that the Big 10 is overrated. And of course, Michigan losing this game is an excellent reason to bash them. But I'd be really hesitant to call the whole conference overrated based on a team losing a beginning of the year game against an opponent they almost certainly didn't take seriously.

I'm not making the judgement on Michigan getting pounded today. That would by no means be fair to the conference. But if you want to judge by past success the past couple of season, just look at Michigan and Ohio State last year, two top ranked teams that didn't even look like they deserved to be on the same fields as USC and Florida last year. I don't mean to sound like the Big 10 is a terrible conference, but I don't think there's any teams in the Big 10 right now that can compete on the same level as some of the SEC and Pac10 teams.

If you aren't in the SEC and your name isn't USC, you don't matter.

The same ESPN that holds "Who's Now" competitions. Seriously, though, USC should join the SEC and they should just make the SEC Division 1-A.

Michigan has to play Oregon next week. Oregon has far more talent than APP state, and we just hapen to also run the spread offense.
