Matt Ryan Heisman trophy candidate?

Post#1 » by NH_soxfan14 » Mon Sep 3, 2007 3:45 am

I was at the Boston College Wake Forest game and by the looks of BC's offense Matt Ryan could seriously be a Heisman trophy sleeper. He went 32-52, 408 yards, 5 TD and 2 INT. Their running game looked pretty weak without L.V. Whitworth and he worked the ball around to 10 different recievers including himself. With coach Jeff Jagodzinski's spread out and spread it around offense watch out for Matt Ryan to make a run for some votes.

Ryan probably wont win it but you haters will see. He will put up very good offensive numbers. Even though the Heisman these days is a pile of **** because its getting to be more about PR than what they do on the field.

Turn those 2 INTs into 2 more TDs, and then we'll talk.

Wait until he puts up 375 yards, 5 TDs and another one rushing in BC's 46-16 thrashing of Notre Dame on national TV. Then his dark horse suddenly looks a lot brighter.

He's probably going to be on a short list but doubt he wins it, regardless he's going to be a top draft pick eventually being talked about the same as Brohm and the guy from Kentucky. Seriously reminds me a lot of Tom Brady.

On a sidenote didnt like the little meltdown last night for the Sox, better bounce back today.

Second sidenote, spent many a day in my youth hanging out at Hampton Beach, my nephew does a bit of surfing now up at North beach.

Matty Ice came up big again against the GT defense tonight. Deffinately one of the top QBs taken in next years draft.

Hampton Beach is my place, i went there a bazillion times this summer with my friends. Good Times, Good Times

30-43 436 yards 1 TD.
Not too bad of a day for him.

It would have been nice if he got a couple more TD passes. But our next three games are against Army, Bowling Green, Umass. So he'll make up for it against them.

Wasnt Ga Tech supposed to have this great defense? Ryan looked like a young Tom Brady, without the girlfriends (we assume). Ryan, Brohm and Woodson look to me like they're all going in the top ten. Teams like Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Detroit and maybe even Dallas would have to be paying attention, i would think.

^ well, he's certainly proving me wrong but boston college has to go undefeated or at least dominate for the rest of the season and i don't really about that... boston college is still iffy in my opinion.

but he will be a good pro prospect, i believe that.

This is a two-horse race between Matt Ryan and Dennis Dixon. Whichever team fails to win out, their QB loses the Heisman race.

Now that Hart missed another game he's done.

Andre Woodson threw up a clunker in a bad loss, so he's done.

Tebow lost again and he looks like he needs to take a week or two off, so he's probably done. He did almost beat UGA by himself though and he'll get toughness points for doing so. Plus for some reason way too many people think he's a golden god.

Dorsey and Laurinaitis have both slowed from strong starts so no defensive player has a sniff

Desean Jackson has played exactly 1.75 great games and has been mostly MIA the rest of the season, he's a joke candidate.

So you're probably right--it's between Ryan and Dixon and the best team will win, with Tebow ready to swoop in with a strong finish if both the Ducks and BC unexpectedly falter. Rhetorical question Can Oregon really unexpectedly falter?

Looks like Matty Ice is out then.

I think Mr. Tebow is in there though.

I hate to say i told you so guys but to tell you the truth, i thought Matt Ryan just had a shot to make it to NYC. I really didnt see him being the favorite at any point this season but WOW what a wierd CFB season it has been. Although Matty Ice has had some bumps in the road he still has a good shot because hes playing nothing but good teams and probably on national telivision.
