USC is overrated

Post#1 » by Monkeyfeng06 » Mon Sep 3, 2007 7:45 am

yes.. sure.. they are rated no.1 in the nation by everyone but i'm on this bandwagon before the season.. i don't see how they are the no.1 team in the country.. john david booty is overrated in my opinion and i don't see a no.1 option for their offense. am i the only one?

USC also didn't have their #1 WR against Idaho in Pat Turner. Vidal Hazelton is a very very talented WR who should be the #2 but it seems like Ausberry might be the #2. Fred Davis is also very talented and a senior who I like at TE.

All 3 of Turner, Davis, and Hazelton are underrated by most to me.

But I do agree they didn't look great and looked a little sluggish in their first game and should have won by more. But really Idaho wouldn't even had a TD if it wasn't for USC's backup QB throwing that interception, and USC is mostly about their D.

They could actually be the best team and still be overrated. It seems like no matter how good they are, ESPN makes them out to be even better.

They should be a great team, and in the national title hunt, but meh, I'm not all THAT impressed.

I thought LSU was overrated and the same for SC. Granted it's early so everything is subject to change but these teams looked just ok to me.

The Trojans look like the kind of team that is stacked with talent but not a lot of these guys are making big plays, the defensive line didnt put much pressure on the QB and the secondary seemed to let guys catch the ball all too often(a common USC trait).

I think the strength of the team is their linebacking corps but Cushing got hurt(hopefully he'll be back against Nebraska), Rey Rey is a walking timebomb which leaves Rivers to make consistant plays and he did. Matthews is probably the best backup linebacker in the country. Like i said it's early and any coach in the country would want that talent.

Right now I question whether they are even the best team in the Pac-10. Right now I think Cal is better than USC.

I hate how overrates them like they are unstoppable . Like when ESPN said the 06 team was the Greatest of all time Before the National Championship game against Texas .

Even if they win the National Championship, I don't think it will have the dominant team vibe to it.

I think College Football is really weak this year for some reason.

That may be true, but when a team is a two time defending national champ and goes undefeated again, you have to expect such statements. A run as dominant as what USC has done in the past few years is exceptionally rare. Even last year when they were rebuilding, there was no doubt that this was a Top 5 team.
