Are you saying that you don't think ND can do what a I-AA school can do?

The Purdue game is tougher than the Michigan State game.

Yes, it's possible but very unlikely. The team will get better as the year goes on and they'll take at least one game they're not expected to.

From the way things look, they might lose all of 'em. Realistically though, they probably are going to win atleast one. I'm guessing its going to be Michigan State.

I'll go out somewhat of a limb and think they'll take 3.

MSU, Purdue and BC.

I made lots of enemies when I went on a Fort Wayne radio show and predicted the Irish to lose their first 3 games. They could lose all 7 of those games, but like wiseguys said I think they'll find a way to win one, maybe 2. MSU is not very good but they can pound the rock with both speed and power, and ND's defensive front is underwhelming. Purdue is going to light them up, but their defense is probably worse than the Irish. I have a sneaking suspicion about BC too--the Eagles are clearly superior but that doesn't always equate with winning.

Sophmore QB Demetrius Jones, who started the GT game, is transfering from Notre Dame.

Played two quarters and fumbled twice. We'll never know how he would've done against an easier defense with a better o-line, but he wanted to transfer quickly so this could be his "sit" year. I'm hearing Northern Illinois and Northwestern, going back home near Chicago apparently.

Probably realized he had little to no chance of playing time at the QB position. He was passed by a true freshman on the depth chart in Clausen, and ND is bringing in another elite QB next year. For the second year in a row, ND got the top California QB in Dayne Crist. He's not as polished as Clausen but a lot of recruitniks say he has more potential in the long run.

If I were Jones, I'd go to N. Illinois so he won't continually get his brains bashed by Big 10 D's.

He is supposedly going to be at NIU's game tomorrow. IMO Weis sort of Charlie Fryed him, but Weis is under increasing pressure to show off his touted recruits and none are bigger than Clausen.

Sure they can start out 1-7 if they can manage to get a win. At the moment that is very much up in the air.

Weiss is terrible.

Notre Dame may be the worst team in the country.

ND's offense is unbelieveable bad. Weiss has a long way to go with this squad, next year will be a different story for sure.

I probably should have put my post that you quoted in green font. I frankly can't stand ND, so it is great to see that they couldn't do what a I-AA team could do.

I'd like to officially announce I'm no longer defending this team or Weis for the year. They've just been the worst team I've ever witnessed. I don't know if all the penalties, high snaps and o-line play are just inexperiance, poor coaching or both, but I'm blaming everyone.

Next season can't get here soon enough. I'll still watch and cheer on the team...but I won't argue for them.
