The Trojans finally move down in the AP as they are showing that they really aren't the best team in the country. On the other hand, the USA Today still have them over-rated.
AP Top 5:
1. LSU
2. USC
3. Cal
4. Ohio State
5. Wisconsin
USA Today Top 5:
1. USC
2. LSU
3. Cal
4. Ohio State
5. Wisconsin

You SOB!!!! Nah, its cool, but I thought this would be my thing.
Good to see Wisconsin in the Top 5, but I don't know how long it'll last.
Bulls up to #6! Woot!
Kentucky up in the Top 10, too. That'll be an interesting storyline for the rest of the season.
BC looks dangerous, the rest of the country better watch out for them.

Congrats to Sal!
Anyone else looking at the new rankings and upon seeing Ohio State and Wisconsin in the top 5 have to fight off a wave of nausea? I'm an old time Rose Bowl fan so I favor the Pac 10 and Big 10, but I think it's pretty clear that the Big 10 doesn't deserve a spot in the title game this year.

How do you figure?
If Ohio State or Wisconsin goes undefeated and either LSU or USC do the same, are you saying you'd still put a one loss team ahead of the two Big Ten schools?

it really depends on who the 1 loss teams are. a 1 loss pac10 or sec champion could make a really good case for going over an undefeated big11 champ. wisconsin has 1 game on their season schedule against a currently ranked team. still way too much season left to worry about it though.
also, why no #1 votes for cal? even ohio state got one. cal goes on the road and beats the #11 team in the country and gets no #1 vote love while ohio state beats a terrible minnesota team and picks up a #1 vote?

Wisconsin hasn't looked remotely like a Top 5 team at any point. They haven't beaten one ranked team yet and pretty much every game has been close. USF and UK have definitely been more impressive.

South Florida is the No. 6 team in the nation. Wow wow wow wow WOW.
Oregon catches a break; No. 13 in one poll and No. 14 in the other. Still being a top-15 team is good, and we should play hungrier.
I like the AP poll better than I do the USA today poll.

I would strongly consider it. Understand that I'm a believer in corrections from previous years, particularly if I see echoes from those years in the current year.
Last year, Ohio State was the only undefeated team, and Michigan impressed people the second most of anyone in the regular season. I argued fervently that they should meet in the national title game. What happened? Teams in other conferences with worse records murdered the both of them, clearly indicated that a big factor in those pretty records was lack of competition. Meanwhile this year, the Big 10 has been embarassed repeatedly, not the least of which when more mature Michigan than last year got upset twice in a row.
Putting a Big 10 team in the title game at this point is to me saying "Yes we know they're probably not one of the top 2 teams in the country, but an undefeated is an undefeated". I don't like it.
I'm not saying I've made up my mind about how I'll feel in December, but if the top Big 10 team doesn't look like a top 2 team to me, I'm not going to have them ranked as a top 2 team just because of their record.

My guess is there will be a one loss team in the title game.

If the upsets keep up, we could see two 1 loss teams in the NC game.

5 Weeks overdue, now what's taking the other poll so long?
If Florida beats LSU, and wins the SEC title, they will be in.
If LSU runs the table, or loses one game that isn't the SEC title, they will probably get in.
USF/LSU title game... Can't wait

Not to mention Cincinnati at No. 8.
I've heard some arguments that Oregon could have risen in the polls in spite of the loss to Cal (which, strangely, can only look better as the year goes on), which would be wonderful, but I was afraid they'd drop the Ducks into the 20s or out of the poll altogether.

I agree that the Ducks should have moved up in the poll alittle or at the absolute worst stood pat. The Ducks did what was expected and more of the #11 team when it plays the #6 team, we lost in a very close game that we should have won. In the end we lost to the #3 team in the country by one-inch. I'd say that is a top 10-11 team. Still sucked seeing that ball bounce out of colvins hands and out of the side of the endzone.

More i watch the games i am confident to say OSU deserves to be in NC if they run the table. Unless both USC and LSU goes undefeated which is not gonna happen.
