What happens to these five teams in your eyes? Who plays for the National Championship? Who goes to a BCS bowl? Who gets left out in the cold?

This year has been so weird that it may not be possible to predict. Anything can happen. All I know is that the Civil War will be interesting. What better way to inspire the Beavs than the thought of potentially eliminating the Ducks from a National Championship game.

Nothing would make me happier than to see Nick Reed break the sack record against the Beavers on Dec. 3.

I can't understand how 2 teams with losses (LSU and Oregon) stay ahead of an undefeated team (Kansas). I know both LSU and Oregon have both played tougher schedules, but if Kansas stays undefeated and doesn't get a chance to play for the National Championship it will just prove that there really needs to be some sort of playoff system, which we will never see, in college football.

They do so because the toughest opponent Kansas had to face was Illinois, who's a top-20 team at best and has three losses (and may still end with four). If Kansas wins out, I don't see how they DON'T make the National Championship game because they'd be Big XII Champions.

Which, in my eyes, leaves Oregon and LSU, and I would pick Oregon to take care of their business before the Tigers.

That leaves Kansas vs. Oregon in the BCS title game, which would be quite the spectacle when compared to early predictions.

Kansas did not play Illinois. Kansas State was probably their toughest game.

Illinois did play Missouri.

if kansas wins out they ll play for the NC as an unbeaten big 12 champ. same with LSU, so those are the two teams that control their own destiny . Considering its highly unlikely that kansas beats both sooners and Mizzou, Oregon-LSU is the most likely matchup. If one of them slips then whoever wins B-12 champ game between OU and Mizzou gets in.

Kansas and Oregon are my choices. But who would have thought that these five teams would be battling at the beginning of the year? LSU and OU were the only teams for me. Thank god my Jayhawks are amazing. Don't count out my Mountaineers though.

Kansas and Missouri don't even belong in the discussion until they have at least one impressive victory, which I doubt will happen.

I'm hoping Kansas beats the living hell out of Mizzou and Oklahoma so all of the "They don't have a legit win" whiners can STFU.

I'm also praying for LSU to lose in the SEC Title game, so Oregon and Kansas end up in the NC Game.

What I think is going to happen:

Missouri beats Kansas, probably pretty handily. End of Kansas, whose non-conference schedule makes Ohio State's look formidable. KU might finish the season not beating one team that finishes with a record better than 6-6.

Oklahoma loses to either TTU or OK State, but not both. That makes the Big 12 Title game a Mizzou-Oklahoma rematch. I see Oklahoma winning that one, but if Missouri wins they have to be in the BCS Title game. If both those teams enter the Big 12 Title game with just one loss, the winner goes to the BCS Title game and the loser gets an at-large BCS Bowl berth.

West Virginia will lose at Cincy this week--Bearcats coach Brian Kelly has never lost at any level to a spread offense team, and his own team runs a hybrid that is real hard to defend if you haven't played it before. They can lose to Cincy, beat UConn and still win the Big East (I think, because I believe the #1 tiebreaker is overall record). Either way, no Big East team with 2 losses is playing for a national title. WVU could win out and light up both opponents and only get in if LSU, Oregon, the Big 12 winner, and Ohio State all lose one more time.

LSU wins their last 2 regular season games. If they're playing Georgia, they'll lose the SEC Title game, but if it's Tennessee they're going to rout the Vols. With no more losses they stay a clearcut #1. If they lose that SEC Title game, they're going to need at least one other team (Mizzou-KU winner, Oklahoma, Oregon, West Virginia, Ohio State), probably 3 of them, in order to make the BCS Title game. I would think they get a BCS at-large berth even with 2 losses, as long as one isn't to Ole Miss or Arkansas.

Oregon wins out. They get in the BCS Title game. For argument sake, let's say they lose to Orgeon State. As long as they still win the Pac-10 (meaning USC beats ASU, and I think they will), they can still get into the title game if WVU loses, no Big 12 team has just one loss, and Michigan beats Ohio State. A LSU loss to Arkansas would really help them out too.

Ohio State has to crush Michigan (I think they will), and have every team above them lose. Stranger things have happened, but I'm not real hopeful.

Boiled down:
LSU wins out = Title game
Missouri/Oklahoma win out = Title game
Oregon wins out = Title game if neither above happens
WVU wins out = two of the three above lose, and those WVU wins had better be convincing
Kansas wins out = Title game, no matter what anyone else does. But one loss and they're not playing in a BCS Bowl
Ohio State beats Michigan = Title game if LSU, Big 12 Champ, and WVU all have more than one loss

Until Kansas plays Mizzou and Oklahoma, they should not even be considered for the title game, if you think Kansas should be in the title game based off who they've played thus far, then I'd say Hawaii deserves just as much mention since both teams are undefeated while playing crap teams.

kansas should be number 1 imo.

if they beat oklahoma in the big 12 championship (which they wont)
they deserve to play in the bcs national championship game.

I really wouldn't be surprised if WVU lost their next three games. I'd be shocked if they didn't lose at least once. And Kansas doesn't deserve to be anywhere near #1.

I hope you are right about Missouri vs. Kansas. Looks like a toss-up to me at this point. I just hope we get past K-State first. Missouri is kinda sorta the Chicago Cubs of college football, and all of us Mizzou fans are half-expecting disaster to strike at any moment.

Can't see Oklahoma losing to either Texas Tech or Oklahoma State, those teams just aren't very good this year. Then again, the Sooners somehow lost to Colorado, so who knows?

I can't see why Oregon and LSU shouldn't play each other for the championship if both teams win out.

Oregon is always a team I like, even though my feelings on the Pac-10 is well known.

They are the exception, I always respect them.

I'm hoping for an LSU/Oregon title game.

To bad Dixon got hurt and Arizona knocked them off. If there healthy I think they might be the best team in the country but you can't loose your Heisman qb and all those offensive weapons and still be the best team.
