Offensive MVP - Knowshon Moreno - He jump started our winning streak and played with a ton of passion. Truly a remarkable player. He's always the first guy off the ground and into the huddle after he runs the ball. Runs a lot bigger than he is, makes cuts and spins that'll leave you stunned. I'm in love. Runner Up: Matthew Stafford
Defensive MVP - Geno Atkins - Underrated guy that doesn't get much press. He makes a living in the opponents back field. With Dorsey hurt a lot of the year I'd say Atkins was the best DT in the SEC. Runner Up: Dannell Ellerbe
Freshman of the Year - Since Moreno already got his praise, Trinton Sturdivant - Starting in the SEC (any major conference for that matter) at LT as a true freshman is one of the most difficult things a college football player can be asked to do. He handled it brilliantly. Along with two other freshmen on the line. It'll be nice to see these guys grow together. Going to miss Velasco and Adams, though. Runner Up: Rennie Curran

Offensive MVP- I am not really sold on Boeckman even though he has done a good job-much better than everyone expected, including myself-so i am going to go with Beanie Wells here. You cant really go wrong with 1500 yards and almost 6 ypc. which includes one of the most amazing indivudual performances in rivalry history. Honorable mention goes to Robiskie.
Defensive MVP--Who else? James Laurinaitis. For second straight season he anchored most dominant defense in the nation. he has been robbed of his second Nagurski award but he is always number 1 for us. 103 tackles, 5 sacks, and 2 Ints speaks for itself. he ll be missed next year. Jenkins comes in second here.
Freshman of the year-Cameron Heyward. He filled in the holes created by departure of last year s class and performed spectacularly despite the pressure of filling in huge shoes.

Offensive MVP: No one.
Defensive MVP: Trevor Laws. Over 110 tackles as a defensive lineman, insane numbers across the board.
Freshman of the Year: Robert Hughes. Chicago native has looked sharp in all his playing time at running back. Anyone that can get over 170 yards in a game behind this line deserves praise.

For Oregon State:
Offensive MVP: Although his production this season was limited by injuries, Yvenson Bernard is undoubtedly OSU's offensive MVP. Bernard Has done an excellent job of keeping up with a recent OSU tradition of producing strong running backs. His 1,037 rushing yards this season puts him at #2 in the school's all-time career leaders, just ahead of Stephen Jackson's career mark of 3,625 yards.
Defensive MVP: When I think of the weapons OSU had this season, there is really no choice but to make this a group award to Joey LaRocque, Al Afalava, Jeff van Orsow and Alan Darlin. This is the key group of players that put OSU as the nation's best team against the run (IIRC, the stat was holding teams to an average of 65 yards per game rushing). This group is vicious. This group will hit anyone and hit them hard (just ask Jake Locker). This group makes many running backs wet their pants at the beginning of games.
Freshman of the Year: Hands down, this goes to James Rodgers. While he fills a WR spot on the roster, he is most dangerous in a sweep run. He leads the team in average yards per carry at 11.8 yards. His small (5-6, 164lb) frame is built for speed. Once he is handed the ball you better get a hand on him very quickly or you better plan on him getting the ball deep into the secondary. He is one of the young guys who makes the future of the Beavers look very bright.
Special Teams MVP: No OSU award ceremony can be complete without honoring the accomplishments of Alexis Serna. Serna had a very rude welcome to college football on September 4, 2004 when he missed 3 consecutive extra point kicks against LSU; those misses cost the Beavers the game. After being benched the next game, Serna returned to his kicking duties in game 3 of 2004...and has not missed an extra point attempt since. His 35 extra points made this year brought his total to 141 consecutive extra points made, which is a new Pac-10 record. On top of his place kicking duties, Serna stepped up to fill in as the team's punter for the season when Kyle Loomis, the team's expected starting punter, abruptly quit the team on the eve of training camp for personal reasons. For a kid who started his career in the worst possible way, he has finished his career as a complete class act.

This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.
