Why they switch the titles of the National Championship?

Ive only been following College Football after I watched 2005 rose bowl.

But it confuses me, this year it's called the BCS Championship, it was called the Rose bowl 2 years ago, and in 2002 it was the Fiesta. Do they just rotate around all the bowls so they each get to be the Championship game every few years? Is it a sponsorship thing? or what?

Thanks

From last season on, it'll be called the "BCS Championship Game". It used to rotate every year once the BCS system was first initiated in the late '90's.

Now they just rotate the sites of the game between all the sites of the rest of the BCS bowls.
